Who Do You Worship?
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)
It is a very interesting time right now as we enter the year 2021. We appear to have completely lost our way and are a people without hope. We have trusted in the false gods of man and forgotten the true God who is our saviour and the only true hope for this world. We are definitely in a spiritual war where we have given up the true Spirit of God and are worshipping the spirit of antichrist. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” (1John 4:1-3)
I find that in general most people have lost their ability to look objectively at what they are being told and blindly believe what the media, medical systems, celebrities, leaders, etc. have to say. In many ways it is because of laziness as this is the easy route to take, someone else is making the decision for them and they think that is ok. It gives them someone else to blame if things go wrong. It is a scary thing when we put all our hope and trust in the worldly gods to see us through our troubles. All the money, possessions, power, etc. in the world will never give us hope. They mean nothing in the end when the Lord returns to judge the world. Hope in man’s solutions is always uncertain but hope in God’s solutions is a certainty. His hope is an act of Supernatural grace. Our obedience and our hope in Jesus Christ will always be the right choice but if we are not obedient, and do not worship our God and Saviour above all else we are in deep trouble and will suffer for it. It is He that gives us our strength and our hope. “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.” (Deut. 8:18-20)
Many of the earthly gods we worship are very appealing and for the most part on their own they are fine but it is when we put them above God and what the Bible says that we get ourselves in trouble and in the end we may find they are not satisfying. “If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.” – C.S Lewis. Right now this world is in quite a mess and many are without hope. The things we have put our hopes and dreams in are falling away and many are left feeling empty. The world is trying to do away with all the old traditions that were the foundations of our Israel lands. The worship of our Lord was the most important one. Let it not be taken from us. We must turn our hopes and dreams to God and His Kingdom and continue to worship the Lord Jesus Christ. This is our future and our hope. What a day it will be when we see Him coming and we will greet Him with worship and praise. Hallelujah!
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” (Col. 3:1-4)
