Waiting at the Station
Gather not to bid me farewell in some melancholy way
Know instead a joyful peace does comfort me this day
I wait here now with all of those whose lives did also end
We’re waiting at the station, just waiting for a friend
How glad am I that I did travel the road God chose for me
How blessed I was to touch the lives of friends and family
Yet, my part in this life is over, it’s now for you to tend
Cause I’m waiting at the station, just waiting for a friend
Soon I know that I will wake from this very pleasant sleep
Foretold He of a time long ago when He will come to reap
It’s an earthly kingdom for all in Christ, loyal to the end
Yes, I’m waiting at the station, just waiting for a friend
When I departed I tell you friends all the signs were there
It won’t be long fore Christ returns to place us in His care
My gift to you this glorious day is a parting prayer I send
Keep waiting at your station, keep looking for our friend
