The Year of Recompence

For it is the day of the LORD’s vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion (Isaiah 34:8)

One thing I’ve learned in my life of almost 53 years is that God’s timing is perfect, even when we think He is running late. As I watched Fox News on the day of the US Embassy opening in Jerusalem I could not help but think of Isaiah 34.

For years I have been yearning for the LORD to return. Like so many others, I’m tired of living under this corrupt age with its corrupt people who lord it over God’s true Israel. After watching the news coverage of what is labeled as a truly historic event, I can’t help but wonder about the opening verse to my article, “Is it the sign that soon we will only have but one year left before the true restoration of Israel begins and Daniel 2:44 is finally fulfilled, ‘And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.’”

I think often of 132 BC when the Jewish king, John Hyrcanus, conquered the country of Idumea and forced the people there to either die or accept their religion. They accepted and these talented, intelligent Idumeans soon held sway over Judea, indeed, by Christ’s time, an Idumean, Herod, was king. In our day, particularly since 1917, the Idumeans have been masquerading as true Israel and have stolen true Israel’s role in the world. Actually, you might say that Jacob passed it over on a platter, the fulfillment of Genesis 27:40.

Yet, one might ask, “Why would God allow this to take place?” In my view, we reap what we sow. Deuteronomy 28 warned us that if we did not adhere to His Laws and Commandments, that we would be facing many, many curses, among them the loss of our wealth and freedoms, as the stranger gets in control. So, the answer is simple, “God has permitted these curses to come upon true Israel”.

It may pull on the heartstrings of today’s Christian body, but Isaiah 34 depicts a fate of the Idumean that is far from pleasant. And one might ask, “Why should it be?” Were they not responsible for the death of our Saviour and together with their collaborators, have they not caused the deaths of countless millions through their many schemes over the years; everything from enslaving people through financial bondage to the profits of sponsoring wars on both sides of a conflict.

You know, as an Israelite who is tired of their control, I pray for God to soon return what is rightfully ours, that is, the birthright given to the sons of Joseph, the Anglo-Saxon and kindred people. I’m so hoping we will soon reach that point described in the Apocrypha, in 2 Esdras 6:9, “For Esau is the end of the world, and Jacob is the beginning of it that followeth.”

It is so sad that we blinded of true Israel are simply not in a position to take back what is rightfully ours, I constantly pray these days that the LORD will soon send forth His angels to remove that which offends out of the Kingdom, as He promised. (see Matthew 13:41) “The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil”. (Article slightly abridged)
