The Movement of the Holy Spirit

On Saturday, March 28 a group of many Christians across Canada had a National Day of Pray called “Virtual Solemn Assembly For Canada – March 28th”. It was a time of prayer and worship for our country and especially right now for protection of COVID-19 OR Coronavirus. It was all in obedience to 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” It started in the morning on the east coast in Atlantic Canada and went across each province and territory to the west coast, including Yukon, North West Territories and Nunavut in the north. It lasted for approximately 11 hours. It was organized by a group called “The Cry” and at times reference was made to John the Baptist crying in the wilderness, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.” (Mark 1:3-4). This was the cry of the prayers for our nation to repent and turn to Jesus Christ. Some called it a reset for all the prodigals to return to their God and Saviour.

“And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” (1Cor. 2:1-5)

It is true we are a country in the wilderness but I believe the Holy Spirit is working in our land(s) today. A cry is going out for us to return to our God. Will we answer? There were so many good Biblical verses used and I tried to write down as many things that were said and verses quoted as I could. Joel 2 was quoted a few times as a call to repentance. Psa. 149 was quoted, “For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psa. 149: 4-9) Could this time be as a two-edged sword? God can use what we conceive as bad, the virus, to His purpose as well, Genesis 50:20 “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” There was prayer too that the people of the Dominion of Canada from Sea to Sea would hear the Word of the Lord now and repent. During this time of distress we must ask God to help us tear down the strongholds of fear. Let there be healing in our land. Lift up our voices and let the sound of worship be felt ahead of His army. We are His weapons of praise.

I could say so much more but I will end with this, outside a hospital in the state of Georgia, USA on the evening of I think it is March 28th there was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit prompting people to spontaneously praise and worship the Lord while a Christian song is playing. Could God through the movem8ent of the Holy Spirit be preparing His people to receive Him as His return is near? It is just a thought, but with this Coronavirus many people are searching and hopefully they will find the Lord God. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Phil. 2:13)

“Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle. Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts. Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up. Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.” (Psa. 28)
