The Madness Continues
Greetings and blessings in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
The madness continues!
Governor after governor is giving in to pressure, as no one wants to be out of step with the rest, and they are shutting down their respective states.
I have been out and about and have seen it with my own eyes. Grocery stores have aisle after aisle of empty shelves, streets are sparsely traveled, parking lots are empty, all schools and libraries are closed, gatherings of more than 50 people are prohibited, election primaries are being postponed, restaurants have all been shut down in our state as of yesterday at 3pm (except for carry-out, for now, anyway), waitstaff are having to look for new jobs in the midst of all this insanity so they can pay their bills, and they are, of course, having difficulty doing so. People cannot sell their houses or land or anything else because everyone is scared and uneasy about the future. They see all of this unfolding before them and they are in protection mode, not wanting to spend any money. The economy is tanking, and, of course, to hear the media masters talk, it’s all the president’s fault!
In the midst of all this insanity and fear, let us keep our heads, and let us KEEP OUR EYES ON JESUS!
Three times in the book of Psalms, in chapters 42 and 43, we read, “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”
Let us, then, hope in the Lord our God!
Do you trust God? Has He ever proved to be trustworthy in your life? I dare say He has! Why, then, would you be fearful now?
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5-6
The world has gone insane and is walking about in fear and darkness, but we are children of light! Let us act like it! “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
We will live as normally as we can here at Kemble House, though that is subject partially to the powers that be. But we will not fear, for we know who holds the future, and we know whose Hand is in our hands. “Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: Thy right hand upholdeth me.” Psalm 63:7-8
Amen! Just as Moses said all those years ago, when God’s people found themselves with Pharaoh’s army on one side and the Red Sea on the other, “Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD,” Our God will keep us safe. All we need do . . . is trust Him!
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.” Psalm 91:1-7
Amen. I want you to dwell on these words of life from the Holy Scriptures, and hold them in your heart, come what may.
Do you believe Him at His Word?
