The Equality Act
Good day to each of you reading on the latest fiasco in America called The Equality Act which was passed by the US House of Representatives in early 2021.
Before we focus on this act, turn to Romans 1:18-31 Scripture and read the words of Paul concerning why God is angry at sinful people. But first, here’s a bit of humor to brighten your day:
A kindergarten teacher was walking around her classroom while her students drew pictures. One little girl was scribbling so intently that the teacher asked what she was drawing. The little girl replied, “I’m drawing a picture of Jesus.” The teacher said, “Oh honey, nobody really knows for sure what Jesus looked like.” The little girl, without missing a beat, responded, “They will in a minute.”

An elderly woman had just returned to her home from an evening of religious service when she was startled by an intruder. As she caught the man in the act of robbing her home of its valuables, she yelled, ‘Stop -Acts 2:38!’ (..turn from your sin…). The burglar stopped dead in his tracks. The woman calmly called the police and explained what she had done. As the officer cuffed the man to take him in, he asked the burglar, ‘Why did you just stand there? All she did was yell a scripture to you.’ ‘Scripture?’ replied the burglar, ‘She said she had an AXE and two 38’s!’
A cat dies and goes to Heaven. God meets him at the gate and says, ‘you have been a good cat all of these years. Anything you desire is yours, all you have to do is ask.’ The cat says, ‘Well, I lived all my life with a poor family on a farm and had to sleep on hardwood floors.’ God says, ‘Say no more.’ And instantly, a fluffy pillow appears.
A few days later, 6 mice are killed in a tragic accident and they go to Heaven. God meets them at the gate with the same offer that He made the cat. The mice said, ‘All our lives we’ve had to run. Cats, dogs and even women with brooms have chased us. If we could only have a pair of roller skates, we wouldn’t have to run anymore.’ God says, ‘Say no more.’ And instantly, each mouse is fitted with a beautiful pair of tiny roller skates.
About a week later, God decides to check and see how the cat is doing. The cat is sound asleep on his new pillow. God gently wakes him and asks, ‘How are you doing? Are you happy here?’ The cat yawns and stretches and says, ‘OH, I’ve never been happier in my life. And those Meals on Wheels you’ve been sending over are the best!’
Laughter is the best medicine! Let’s enjoy a laugh or two in this topsy-turvy world.

To prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation, and for other purposes. IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES. March 1.
Turn with me to Romans 1:18-31 (NIV): The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
How can God bless America when many fellow Americans have substituted the truth about God with a fantasy of their own imagination to fit their lifestyle?
This act has gone against God’s ways to promote man’s ways of having a self-centered lifestyle and as long as it hurts no one else. Contrary to the popular opinion, this self-centered lifestyle is sin and a willful rebellion to God.
When reading about this act, here are a few takeaways:
- This act will have a profound impact on all people either negatively or positively as well as businesses, churches and ministries.
- Schools, churches and hospitals could be forced to accept the government’s beliefs about both sexual orientation and gender identity.
- Our everyday speech will be effected whether in public, at work, at play or in a social atmosphere along with possibly losing our jobs.
- This Act will legislate that we allow the following: boys in girls’ sports, boys in girls locker rooms, men in women shelters and men in women’s prisons.
- School teachers and students will be forced to pretend publicly that a biological female is a male and vice versa. Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders could choose to be a boy, girl, neither or both.
The Equality Act, as enforced across the fifty states will threaten the rights of every Christian and religious ministries to hire people of like faith. Health professionals will be stripped of their rights of conscience. These professionals who did not wish to engage in gender transition treatments such as hormone blocking, cross-sex hormones or surgery will have to adhere to this act.
As God has said in verse 21, many American’s thinking has become futile and foolish hearts darkened for man’s objective is to have a self-centered lifestyle that is not to be infringed upon by anyone including God.
The result, these people choose to reject God, and God allowed them to do it. Rebellious choices come with circumstances as we become slaves to sin by declaring our supposed independence from God.
Shameful lusts and exchanging or abandoning natural relations for unnatural relations whether by man or woman is sin and sin is not only denying God but denying the way we were made. As one man said, God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
The Equality Act has played directly into Satan’s hands for it is against God’s ways, for although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
And the result is found in verse 32: Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things, but also approve of those who practice them.
And my thought to you, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
