Lack of Knowledge
What has happened to us? We seem to have completely lost our ability to think. Our great Israel lands were once full of prosperity. We were safe and had abundant amounts of blessings from God. Our basic daily needs for most of us were usually met. There were hard times of course but our lands were the ones that people wanted to emigrate to because they saw that we were good. We have lost that awareness of who we are. Our great lands are being divided by our lack of knowledge and decisions are being made on emotions rather than on historical facts and the fact that we mostly at least obeyed God’s laws. We seem to have lost our common sense and understanding of what is happening. We trust in the news and other media forms that would rather blame us for everything that is going wrong rather than for people to take responsibility for their own decisions and investigate what is true and what is false. Of course, for them this takes too much work and time and they would rather rely on what someone else decides is the right thing for them to do. We have lost the ability to make decisions for ourselves and how do we know they really have our best interests at heart? So sad!! Years ago, I wrote an article called A Lost Generation and I feel that is what we have today. A whole generation that does not know the true history of our great lands, although we did make many mistakes, we tried our best to build our nations on the laws of God’s Word. We prayed and tried to be good to our fellow man, helping each other as best we could along the way. Our children are suffering for this lack of knowledge. They have not got the foundations to help them make decisions and therefore make decisions on emotions which are always fluctuating and influenced by others.
We now live in a world where our countries are divided within themselves. They have no anchor because they have abandoned God and His laws which were the rudder which guided our decisions and kept us on track, and again, although we made mistakes our basic goals were good and we tried our best. A divided nation cannot survive. “And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.” (Mark 3:24-26). It really is sad how we have fallen so quickly in the last few years. At times it almost feels as if we have moved to a different world as things have become so different. We must keep the Lord with us, at all times, as our shield against this wicked world.
Yesterday a friend of mine witnessed the aftermath of a terrible collision between a few cars outside her home. She and her husband, as well as others, went out to see if there was anything they could do, but by that time the police and first responders advised them to go away and she realized it was because people had died in the collision. At that time, she said she had an overwhelming feeling that she must pray for these people. She could not go far until she had done that. She felt God was telling her to pray for them. Of course, she will never know the outcome of her prayers, but she obeyed that still small voice telling her to pray. I believe this is what we are to do in these days leading up to the Lord’s return. We must abide with Jesus and let Him instruct us in various situations where He wants us to do something. We are the light in this very dark world and although we are few, we are mighty as we have the Power of God guiding us. We must not forget this. When we are weak, He makes us strong. “For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
As we draw closer to the Lord’s return to judge the earth, we must remember that we are His witnesses, and we must rely on Him more and more in these troubling times. The foundations appear to be crumbling around us, but the Lord is aware of our cries at all that is happening. He will guide us through these times if we listen to His voice and make our decisions on the truth of God and not the so-called truth of man. We must be awake and not sleeping. We are His watchmen.
“In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.” (Psalm 11)
