If My People
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
We have here a solemn promise from our God.
I do not know about you, but I believe God when He speaks. He says what He means, and He means what He says. If there is one thing in this universe that we can depend upon, it is the Word of our God. It is true and sure, and will always come to pass. It is more dependable than the air that we breathe. It is eternal, and it never returns void, but will always accomplish that which He pleases — always — without fail and without exception.
The REMEDY for all our life is clear. The RESULT is absolutely certain. So our people must SEEK HIS FACE AND PRAY
This being true, as I consider the pitiful state of the many nations of Israel today, known as the Anglo-Saxon, Celtic, Germanic, Scandinavian and kindred people, the Christian nations of the world, I can only conclude that it is we — not God — who are to blame for our current ills. We are God’s people, to be sure. History declares it. Archeology declares it. But that is where it ends. We are anything but humble, we are not praying as we should, we are not seeking His presence as we ought, and we have horribly wicked ways. Therefore, do we find ourselves in our present pitiful state.
If we ever want to see the glory and the blessings again that were once ours as a people, we must arise and return to the Father as the prodigal, and beg His forgiveness. We must get serious about pleasing God, and begin obeying His express command.
His promise is sure and His Word is dependable. It is forever settled in heaven and stands ready to bless beyond measure. He will do as He says — but will we do our part?
If we want God to hear us, we must first speak to Him. We must enter our prayer closet and stay there until we have touched heaven. And if we ever want our national sins to be rolled away, and experience true healing as a people, we must meet His requirements.
O people of God, it is time to return to the Father! Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up! Pray without ceasing! Seek His face and His Kingdom above all else! And let not one wicked way be named among you! For only then will we see the mighty blessings of God upon our people once again.
The Lord has said, “. . . I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: that thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days . . .” Deuteronomy 30:19-20
Amen! This is the way, let us walk in it!
