How Long Lord

“The Lord judges his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone.” (Deut. 32:36.)

The other day I happened to tune into a radio talk show. The host of the show was commenting on an engineer’s (I did not get his name) suggestion that we should have a state controlled religion in Canada. He said that this would solve a lot of the problems that we are now facing with multi-faith religions. Here we go! It seems now that it is only a matter of time before they will try to implement a unified religion. The very fact that someone is talking about it means that it is being considered. Oh! Canada wakeup! Where are we heading? What are we thinking? A state controlled religion! We are becoming more and more a socialist state. “Now therefore, what have I here, saith the Lord, that my people is taken away for nought? They that rule over them make them to howl, saith the Lord; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.” (Isa. 52:5.)

Our people seem to be completely confused. We are receiving one proposal after another from the bureaucrats and we don’t know what is coming next. The people that called into the talk show while I was listening were, for the most part, completely against this suggestion. Yet, it will be interesting to see how this progresses. Will we wake up to what is happening to us or will we fall further and further into the darkness that is enveloping our land? Only time will tell. If we don’t repent and ask for God’s forgiveness soon, it is inevitable that we will continue to flounder in our confusion.

Our Israel nations are in trouble! We have totally lost sight of who we are and have no vision of where we are heading. Indeed it is sad to watch all that is happening, knowing that it is leading us to disaster. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6.) However, we do have the Lord’s guarantee that he will not abandon us and that he will help His people, “when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.” (Eze. 34:27.)

Still, the hour is short. Certainly, we must not be sleeping at this time. God is counting on us to be watchful and awake. “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.” (I Thess. 5:2-4.) We will be protected at the time of God’s wrath, “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Thess. 5:8.)

I sometimes feel like an island in a stormy sea. All around there is chaos, as the Lord is gathering the nations for the final battle of God Almighty. God is directing world events to lead to the conflict which will end all wars. “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.” (Rev. 16:6) It cannot be long now. China is becoming a monster power in the wor l d. She is making alliances with many nations. The Middle East is a powder keg and definitely an area to watch. Time is short. Things will become so bad that we will fall to our knees. Soon our eyes will be opened. We will hear God’s word. We will know who we are and what our responsibility is. He will show us the way. “Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.” (Isa. 43:8.) God will deliver His people from their enemies as He has done in the past. We must put on the armour of God daily for His protection in this time of Jacob’s trouble.

“Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.” (Psa. 2:10-12.)
