High And Mighty
They say familiarity breeds contempt, and my understanding of this is that when people get used to a situation, and their surroundings, they are apt to take them for granted, and in some cases get a bit above themselves.
This certainly happened with Sarah’s handmaid Hagar. After the Lord God had promised that Abraham would be the father of many nations, and Sarah had been unable to produce children, eventually passing her childbearing age, Hagar was given to Abraham. This was Sarah’s idea, as she could not imagine any other way for Abraham to have an heir. And indeed, as we know, Hagar was the mother of Abraham’s first son; Ishmael.
When she was pregnant, Hagar became very pleased with herself, for was she not to bear a son for her Mistresses’ husband! The Bible account tells us of Hagar that …”when she conceived she despised her mistress…”. And later, Ishmael himself, after Isaac had been born, mocked his little half-brother – as he probably considered himself Abraham’s heir being the first born. But it was Isaac who was the son of promise – the true heir to Abraham.
The people of Israel themselves at oft times became high and mighty – considering they knew better than the God who had delivered them from Egypt, and thus they despised His promises. We read this in the Bible on many accounts, and we cannot help but consider how the Lord eventually drew the line on the last ‘official’ king of Judah – Zedekiah. His throne was cast down, and it might have been the end of the road – but for David’s sake, the Lord saved the king’s daughters, and through this, the Davidic line was transferred to the British Isles where it joined with the Royal Red Hand line of Zarah, and still reigns today.
But as it often was with God’s people, who were forever turning away, and hankering after worldly, Babylonian ways and ideals, even now, regathered Israel in the “Isles” and the Christian West, have once again gotten above themselves, and in their vanity have forgotten their God.
Just as God brought down Zedekiah and his line of kingship, and just as His people the House of Israel, and later Judah, were also cast away (for a period of punishment), so we have to wonder if and when the Lord will call time on our current generation, who have, it can be rightly said, become as those in the days of Noah, and also in the days of Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah.
So, is time about to be called? Well, on the 8th April this year (2024), the United States of America will see a third eclipse of the Sun since 2017. The first, on 21st August 2017, took place 7 months after Donald Trump’s 1st day in office as President. On that day he was 70 years, 7 months and 7 days old. Let it also be noted that from the day of that Presidential Election (8th November 2016) to the 2017 eclipse, were 286 days, which is the number of “displacement”– and what has happened since then?
On 14th October 2023, there was an Annular Eclipse (known as a Ring of Fire). This was in the constellation of Libra, and this was also across the US.
But, the imminent April 8th Total Eclipse will be 8 days after Easter – it will traverse Mexico, the USA and Canada. And there will not be another Eclipse there until 2044.
This particular Eclipse is most interesting in that it will, within it’s path of totality, pass 7 ‘Nineveh’s’ in the US and 1 in Canada. They are; in Texas, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and New York. And in Canada, Nineveh – in the Province of Nova Scotia.
Interestingly Wikipedia says that an eclipse named the ‘Bur-Sagale’ crossed the actual city of Nineveh in June 765 BC. It is recorded in Assyrian eponym lists, and we are told the most likely date is in the tenth year of the reign of king Ashurdan III. This Eclipse is identified with one that occurred in June in 763 BC in the proleptic Julian Calendar. The Bur-Sagale Eclipse occurred over the Assyrian city of Nineveh in the middle of the reign of Jeroboam II who ruled Israel from 786 to 746 BC. The prophet Jonah lived and prophesied in Jeroboam’s reign. Was this the time when Jonah was urging the peoples of Nineveh to repent so the Lord would not destroy them?
During this April, the Eclipsed sun will be in the constellation Aries, and there will be 4 conjunctions of planets in our solar system. Back in January, 7 planets along with the sun and moon began to line up in the sky. This will continue through mid-May. According to the internet, when looking from Jerusalem towards the east, all 7 of these recognised planets will line up in the 3 constellations of Pisces, Aries and Taurus.
Because of this year’s Presidential election, and Donald Trump’s involvement in the 2017 Eclipse, I feel that these signs in the heavens will be linked with him in some way, in any potential effects.
When Jonah finally went to Nineveh, he succeeded in getting the people to repent and the Lord did not then destroy them. Is this the message of the 2024 Eclipse? And will it be a case of; “Who is on the Lord’s side? Let him come unto me..” (Ex 32:26). Let us hope that if this is the case, many people will humble themselves indeed, and take the opportunity to return to the Lord, for the state of America – and in fact the World itself – is on the brink!
One last little gem is that all three eclipse paths across the United States of America superimposed over each other, give a combination of 2 important Hebrew and Greek letters Alpha and Omega – the Beginning and the End! Is God calling time…?
We shall have to see what will evolve in this very volatile but interesting year – and if indeed anything remarkable will result from these amazing signs in the heavens, especially as the first community the path of the Eclipse touches in the US is Eagle Pass, Texas – “ground zero” of the immigration crisis, and the last port of call, is at ‘St John’s’ (Newfoundland), Canada – one of the oldest European settlements in the New World, founded by the British in 1497. And ‘St John’s’ being the Apostle John – who wrote the Book of Revelation.
There is much more that could be written about this subject, but space does not permit, so I shall finish with the next 2 verses of Luke; (21:27-28); “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
And that time WILL come…!
