From South Carolina: Dear Pastor Campbell: In your opinion, what does God think of today’s theologians?
Thanks South Carolina: Taken as a group, God must be very disappointed. This is not to say there are not good ones, but these are the exception, you could say they represent the little flock. But, the majority are just not standing up for God’s Word or His Truth. Isaiah 56:11 sums it up pretty much for me, “… they are greedy dogs…. Shepherds that cannot understand”. Today’s men and women of the cloth tend to be part of the religious political correctness. Here are just three Bible passages I could refer you to when thinking of these scoundrels, (1) Jeremiah 5:30 “The prophets [theologians] prophesy falsely” and (2) Ezekiel 13:3 “… Woe unto the foolish prophets …” and Ezekiel 34:2 “…. Prophesy against the prophets of Israel”.
South Carolina again: In Malachi 1:3 God says he hates Esau but it seems to me that the Jewish Encyclopedia states that Esau has been incorporated into Jewry. Does this mean the modern Israeli State is populated by a combination of Esau and Israelites?
Hi Again: Various scholars have placed the Israelite component of the Jews in the modern Israeli State at between 5 -10% and that most of those that immigrated to the nation were Esau descendants. However, in looking at Malachi and Esau, verse 1:4 is important to review, “Whereas Edom [Esau] saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the Lord of Hosts, They shall build, But I will throw down and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the Lord hath indignation for ever”. Phew! That’s pretty clear. Secular history demonstrates how over and over Esau has been brought down. Upon the exodus to Israel in the twentieth century, they declared that Israel would blossom like a rose but the only blossom came about through American money. It’s too early to foretell what will happen to Esau, who is ensconced in positions of power in the political, economic and theological corridors of the world, and it’s not me that is saying this, but God, “I will throw down”. We just have to stay tuned! And we Israelites who are under the Esau Dominion should pay close attention to the words of the prophet Ezekiel, in Chapter 34:27, “…..and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the Lord, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them”. What a day that will be!
From Toronto: Pastor Campbell, it’s good to see you actively writing again and I enjoy your column very much. Is it too detailed a question to ask you to give us a short review of the world today; for that seems to be a prelude to the early return of our Lord?
Hello Toronto: I spoke many times in your wonderful city and was so happy when Brooks Alden, the editor of this magazine, advised that British Israel is going strong under its new leadership and still having its annual conferences. Canada seems to be a bright spot in the Israel world and maybe the late Jim Read, the former president of the Association of the Covenant People, was prophetic when he so often stated that he believed God has a special purpose in mind for the nation. We shall have to wait and see,
Here in Britain, I think the past year has seen us fall further down the tubes. And if projections are correct, the May election will see a multiplicity of smaller parties. The Scottish nationalists just might end up as a dominant party. Will this election spell the end of the two-party monopoly? Perhaps so and if so, probably because of their movement toward the one-world system, the decline caused by non-Christian immigration, the equality agenda and the scarcity of leaders of quality; that is, true statesmen. Oh, for another Margaret Thatcher!
What can I say about the Mid-East debacle? ISIS is getting bolder, more vicious and popular in the eyes of Islamic extremists around the world. We’ve seen terrorist actions in France, Denmark and elsewhere but there has been no united effort to stop them so far. And won’t be unless America involves themselves. But, they are reluctant, either because of weak leadership or for fear of the additional huge debt this will be placed upon the shoulders of the American people. As it is, the cost of the immigrants streaming across a porous border and the staggering cost of another potential war threatens to imperil the great financial giant of years gone by. And ISIS; remember what the Scriptures tells us of them in Genesis 16:12, “And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him, and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren”. Someone asked me if this relates also to the Iranians but they are not Arabs. Yet, one thought to bear in mind that may explain the reluctance of the western nations to get fully involved in the fight against ISIS is that these one-worlders want President Assad and the government of Syria to be brought down, and as one journalist remarked, “Does it matter how many Christians are eliminated”. Syria is too allied to Iran and despite the present negotiations between President Obama and Iran’s leadership, Assad’s removal will perhaps cut this tie, which the modern Israeli State, in particular, desires immensely. By the way, one of the last prophecies that has yet to come to pass is found in Isaiah 17:1, “The burden of Damascus. Behold Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap”. The present turmoil could well lead to this disaster, but I ask this, “Could it also relate to the overthrow of the Assad government and the installation of an ISIS government that will spread its tentacle’s throughout the Middle-East, bringing even more terror? And will that terror see the nation most affected attack with all their means”.
A quick comment on Turkey. I have talked about her probable future role in many of my messages in the past few years and in my view, she is the Togarmah of Ezekiel 38:6. Recall that she entered WWI on the side of Germany because of a promise to regain her satellite countries, a bad move as it turned out. Still, it’s unlikely she has forgotten her strong goal.
As to Ukraine, time will tell if the truce will hold but my bet is that it will not. It is interesting that the leaders of Germany and France met with Putin and others for the negotiations. America was not involved. President Merkel of Germany is increasing her EU and world influence. She is reminiscent of Bismarck of the 1870’s who was known as the Iron Chancellor of Germany. Perhaps time will depict her as the Iron Lady of that country.
From Vancouver: Pastor Campbell, can someone who believes Jesus is her Saviour but doesn’t believe He is God be in the First Resurrection?
Dear Vancouver: You should encourage this lady to read Acts, Chapters 2 to 4. The answer is no! He is the Way, the Truth and the Light. Thinking as she does undermines the whole principle. A few years ago, Pastor Bruggerman wrote a series of newsletters entitled “Is Jesus God?” Perhaps you can make a copy of these available to the lady in question. If she has not changed her mind after this very informative study, perhaps she has never yet been selected by God the Father as someone to direct to Jesus Christ.
