Prepare To Meet Thy God
The situation in the world today is extremely critical. Fear, coupled with uncertainty, is gripping the hearts of people today; and it is mainly the fear of what may yet lie ahead. This fact about fear was long ago predicted in Luke 21:26. And the Bible leaves no doubt but that chaotic conditions beyond human imagination will one day prevail on the earth; for God has said that “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
Now ponder what the Bible has to say about Fear. It says “Fear not” and this combination of cheering words occurs no less than 80 times in the Bible; it runs through it like a silver thread. It was first said to Abraham in a vision; and later God told Isaac not to fear for He was with him, And God is saying fear not to us today; and we do need these encouraging words in the perilous times of these “latter” days, (II Timothy 2),
Read Isaiah 41:10,13 and especially note verse 13. What is there then to fear, except to fear God and keep His commandments? (Ecc1.12:13) We do need to remember who He is. Though He is a “consuming fire” (Deut. 4:24) He is love (I John 4:8). His love passes human comprehension (John 3:16). And let us take to heart the thought that God is sitting on His Throne. That He has complete control of the situation in the world today, and is watching and waiting. He controls the elements; He makes the rain and the tornado; and He can shake the earth wherever and whenever He likes, And perhaps that is the way He is speaking to the inhabitants of the world today, to make them think, for He knows in detail what lies ahead.

Matthew 24:14 clearly suggests that when the “Good News” of the Kingdom shall be preached for a witness unto all nations some extraordinary happenings will take place., The “Good News” has now gone to practically all parts of the world. And this is a sure sign of the imminence of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for the Church (John 3:16). We do well also to remember that one day we shall all meet God, and hence the title of this message, how are we going to meet Him? As a Friend or the reverse, the choice lies with us.
How important then it is to be quite sure of the foundation on which we are standing today. The only safe one is the “Rock of Ages”, who is “the same yesterday and today and forever.” We-are all enjoined to go along “in quietness and in confidence,” patiently waiting the time when His magnetic power will draw us to the beautiful Kingdom.
So, my friends, “The Lord bless thee and keep thee; The Lord make his face shine upon thee and be gracious unto thee; The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee and give thee peace”. Numbers 6:24-26 (Article slightly abridged)
