A Journalist’s Half- Awakening
“They received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11) “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” (1Thess. 5:21)
Along with many others, I watched an internet presentation by one of America’s respected and hard-hitting, mainline journalists, wherein he expounded and explained a partial Israel Identity truth. My first thought was that he had sown a seed in Israelites everywhere of this magnificent truth and I had hoped it would take root. Because it is a portion of the truth our Association has been spreading since our formation in 1909, as have been dozens of other groups throughout the US, Canada and other Western nations. As an American, our journalist went into great detail to show that the number thirteen, as found in the Great Seal of the United States, ties in directly, not necessarily with the original thirteen colonies, but with the thirteen tribes of Israel, with the tribe of Joseph forming two tribes through Joseph’s sons Ephraim and Manasseh.
You know, readers, I have often thought that the founding fathers of the fledgling New Republic and its subsequent Constitution, based on Biblical principles and first brought to this continent by the Pilgrims and the Puritans, were perhaps the inspiration for the motto “In God We Trust” and the motto “One Nation Under God”. Some might say, also they were the inspiration for the battle slogan of the Continental Army under George Washington “We Have No King, But Jesus”.
Anyway, back to our journalist. Although he brought forth a very compelling point, but unless I missed it, he did not point out that the Israelites are not now concentrated in Jewry, as so many claim, but that they are mainly found amongst the Anglo Saxon, Germanic, Scandinavian and kindred peoples. You know, I am completely baffled by the naivety of people who have no difficulty believing that the Arab race grew into millions from Ishmael or that the Chinese grew into a billion plus over the centuries, but, at the same time think the Israelites, who at the time of King David were twelve million strong, never really grew at all but make up a portion of the approximate eighteen million Jews around the world. Doesn’t make sense but it just shows how minds can be re-moulded to accept almost anything.
In fact, my admiration for the journalist came to a screeching stop when he began to promote the Judeo-Christian fallacy and enthusiastically talking about Judeo-Christian churches and ideas. And so, I want to begin this year of 2015 with this article highlighting the fallacy our Christian body and churches have so eagerly accepted as God’s enlightenment.
Simply put, Judeo-Christian is an oxymoron. This simply means that the word contains a combination of two opposite or contradictory ideas. Let’s examine this! Christianity is based solely on the written word of God, as found in the Christian Bible, both Old and New Testaments. But Judaism is based primarily on the Talmudic writings of the Rabbis, which rejects Jesus the Christ, the mainstay of all Christian believers, hence the name Christian, the name first coined in Antioch only a few years after the Crucifixion, Resurrection and Ascension of Christ (Acts 11:26). Christianity is thus based and founded on the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God through the Prophets and not on the traditions of men, as is Judaism, which Jesus condemned.
The late local Bible scholar, Tom Mitchell, used to say, “The Christian God has a son, Jesus Christ, the Jews deny Christ, therefore their god has no son. So, do the Jews have a different god than we Christians?”
Now I know that many churches consider themselves to be Judeo-Christian, and there are also those churches that teach a replacement theology, namely that the real Israelites are no more and that the Church now constitutes a Spiritual Israel, which is a fallacy in itself and certainly cannot be substantiated by the Bible. In Deut. 7:6 and 14:2 we read that God chose Israel to be a peculiar people unto Himself and in Isa. 41:8 and 9 we can read that Jacob-Israel was chosen to be the Lord’s servant and vs 9 also states that the Lord has not cast the Israelites away. And in Mal. 3:6 we read, “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” Thus it stands to reason, that if God changes not, then Israel must still be a people unto the Lord at this very present time that we find ourselves in, in the twenty-first century, and no multiracial, multicultural, multinational entity can take their place. It is just not Biblical.
I would hope that our journalist could understand what I am outlining here and take these things to heart. I would not wish him to construe the statement in the last paragraph as being racist, for it is not meant to be. But, what I am pointing out is the fact that the Bible, the Word of God, is in itself very selective. The whole Bible is and was written to and for Israel. Not anyone else! Also, the Law of God was given to Israel and to no other race or people on this planet. “You only have I known of all the families of the earth; therefore, I will punish you for all your iniquities.” (Amos 3:2) In Gen. 22 we read that Abraham would be the progenitor of uncountable descendants and that through his seed, all the nations, or peoples of the earth would be blessed. (Gen. 22:18) This prophecy has been and is still being fulfilled in a marvelous way.
The Christian West has in many ways been a blessing to the world in sharing technology, medicine, food and wealth with those that have not. At the same token, those that are not of Israel, but desire to serve and worship the God of the Israelites, the God that the Christians serve, they will also share in the blessings, but they will never become an Israelite. “Also the sons of the foreigner, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and take hold of my covenant; even them will I bring to my Holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all peoples. The Lord God, who gathereth the outcast of Israel, saith, yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.”(Isa. 56:6,7,8)
One thing is certain! Christian Israelite, whether you are a Christian that believed as our forefathers did or one who subscribes to Judeo-Christian, in the very near future we will all be awakened to our true identity, and He who sits in the Heavens, will separate the sheep from the goats. Of this we can be sure.
