The Greatest Rescue Ever
Daniel 12:7 reveals that at an appointed time, “He shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people”. This was to be the signal that the end of the age would be just around the corner. Jesus described the end by saying, “You shall hear of wars and rumours of wars” and isn’t this becoming almost the “norm” in the world today as leaders are almost daring one another to, as we used to say in our youth when provoking a fight, to “knock the chip off the shoulder”. There’s America, tantalizing the Russians on the borders of Poland and the Ukraine. Putin, on the other hand, is gaining more confidence and courage as the weeks pass, not knowing that God has hooks in Russia’s jaw and will bring her forward at His timing. Our Israel nations have leaders more committed to a one-world agenda than the welfare of their nations and people. In reality these leaders are themselves under the influence of a great human power, mostly the ancient enemy of the Israelites, the descendants of Jacob Israel’s brother, Esau, who was promised the dominion at some point over Israel. (Genesis 27:40)
The prophet Ezekiel (7:8) said of True Israel, “Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.” Look just at America for a moment, that country is the best example of the punishment God is handing out for disobedience to His Laws and Commandments. The curses of Deuteronomy 28 are in full bloom, whether referring to tornados, fires, record heat, flooding, massive snow storms, etc., etc., etc. Beyond nature, there is the unthinkable unemployment, looming wars and financial bondage. You know, a few years before World War 2, a writer noted, “Unemployment, war and economic bondage are the three darkest shadows on the international horizon. They sound familiar, don’t they, and here we are, possibly on the doorstep of World War 3 and the same dark shadows are frightening millions in our nations. I can’t help but think of Daniel 9:14 “Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD is righteous in all his works, which he doeth, for we obeyed not his voice”.
So, the two formerly powerful Israel nations, Britain and America, have been defanged, they are just a shadow of their former greatness. Britain has no real power anymore and has been so overcome by traitorous leaders that she must go hat in hand to Europe. Scotland, long a part of the United Kingdom, will hold a referendum in September to decide whether to stay or leave the union and it is a frightening thought that in recent weeks there has been a steady increase of support for leaving. And if Scotland does leave, will there be a renewed effort to abandon Northern Ireland. America, on the other hand, seems to have been reduced to making threats but is so indebted and weak in leadership that she can’t seem to implement them. One of the reasons for the weakness in these two former superpowers is the change in the make-up of their population. The Lord God Almighty made provision for the stranger to come to the Israel nations but there was a proviso, the stranger had to accept Israel’s God and her customs. Yet, for over half a century, the one-world leadership of both nations have opened the doors to all peoples, and the result has been religious and racial strife. All the time, a move to weaken what made our countries great in the first place picked up tempo, I’m referring to the dismantling of our Christian faith.
Then, through legislation and constant remoulding, the pride and power of the Israel people has been progressively sapped to the point that most are worn out physically, spiritually and mentally. It is as Daniel 7:25 points out, “they will wear out the saints of the most high”. And so, we take the punishment lying down. And the denigration of our God and Faith has been so well applied by the enemies of Jesus Christ that most Israelites really don’t know there is an alternative. The young, in particular, see things about them as normal and are kept occupied by pleasures, sports and entertainment. And so, we have reached that point to which the prophet Hosea (6:10) referred, “I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel, there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled”.
It is not a pretty picture! And because of the great disobedience in the Israel lands and the sad quality of politicians guiding our destiny, there is only the slippery slope ahead for us. Certainly we were warned time after time, Leviticus 26:19, for example, “And I will break the pride of your power”. You know, despite everything we are told about the invincibility of our military strength, all the Israel nations together will be no match against the hordes of the Gog/Magog alliance described by Ezekiel 38 and Joel 2. When it happens, and all signs point to it being soon, the devastation will be severe. Joel uses these descriptions, “a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like”; “The earth shall quake before them”; and “Before their face the people shall be much pained.” In all likelihood the invasion will be preceded by an economic collapse, thus weakening us further. But, we will discover that we cannot save ourselves, only God can do it.
Still, 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Hosea 5:15 makes it clear that God will not come to our aid until we go to our knees and pray for intervention. I’m sure we will when death and destruction is all around us and there seems no hope whatsoever. And for better or for worse, we are the covenant people of the Bible and can rely on verses like Joel 2:18 to receive God’s help, “Then will the LORD be jealous of his land, and pity his people”. Remember Daniel 12:7, He will make this move when He sees that the power of the holy people is gone.
We should also remember God’s motivation, “Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.” Joel 2 & Ezekiel 38-39 demonstrate the rescue.
Praise our Almighty God, Jesus Christ, and pray that our brethren across the world soon recover their sight. We shall be alright and Esau is doomed because God tells Israel in Ezekiel 34:27, “… and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them”.
