A Christian Israelite View Change
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
The most watched election, worldwide, in the last twenty or thirty years is behind us and our Manasseh brethren in the US have opted for four more years of Barack Obama, thought by many to be a pretend-Christian but actually a Muslim and a proponent of communist like socialism. Four years ago in 2008 his platform was “change,” remember his words, “together we can change America.” Well, changes were made, but not for the better. Americans have lost more freedoms and liberties in the last four years and been burdened with more debt than you can shake a stick at. All this for the sake of change!
For the past hundred years, since the end of World War One, America has risen to a giant among nations. They were rich, they were good, they were benevolent, and they were a Christian nation, abounding in Christian principles. But alas, things have changed (there is that word again), but not for the better. In the last 25 years America has gone from being rich to being poor, with a national debt that staggers the imagination and borders on bankruptcy. Instead of being good they have become arrogant and in place of being benevolent the country has become imperialistic and a warmonger, fighting overseas wars for the benefit of the big money crowd, and not for the people who foot the bill via taxation. Oh Yes! America has lost its way, because America has lost its God. They have as a nation shunned the God of their fathers. The showcase nation of the world has become apostate to the core.
President Truman, a sincere Christian, established one day a year as a National Day of Prayer
In 1962 President Truman established one day a year as a National Prayer Day. In 1988, then President Reagan enacted legislation that brought the first Thursday in May of each year as a National Day of Prayer. In 2007 Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama stated that the US was no longer a Christian nation and as President in 2009, canceled the National Day of Prayer at the White House. Yet, in the same year a National Day of Prayer was held on Capitol Hill for those of the Muslim faith, with 50,000 Muslims in attendance. (Courtesy P. Van Woudenberg, letter Chilliwack Times). No, friends, we do not need the change as advocated by President Obama, we need a reversal; we need to return to our former principles. And that does not only hold for the US but that applies to all of the Christian west. The same apostate attitude permeates all of our Christian nations. All have forsaken the God of their fathers and are serving the beast.
In Matt. 5:21 we read Jesus’ own words where He said , “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old, thou shalt not kill and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of judgment”, (this is the sixth commandment). This is pretty plain language, but almost everywhere our people are condoning abortions and infanticide in total disregard of what the Holy Bible teaches.
Likewise in Rom. 1 Paul writes in verses 21-22, “Because, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were they thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.” Continuing in verses 26 and 27 Paul says, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections; for even their women did exchange the natural use for that which is against nature; And likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was fitting.” Paul is definitely condemning homosexuality here, but our churches are condoning it and embracing this as an alternate lifestyle and ordaining Priests and Ministers that embrace this abominable practice. And now on top of that, same-sex marriages are being allowed in many places. Again, quoting Paul in 1Cor. 7:2 we read, “Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife and every woman have her own husband.” Thus Paul is saying marriage is between a man and a woman, not two men or two women.
O yes, dear Christians we have lost our way and God is not pleased.
In Jeremiah 50:6 we read, “My people have been lost sheep; their shepherds (pastors) have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains; they have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.” What Jeremiah prophesied almost seven hundred years before Christ is ever so true in our generation. The mainstream churches teach a watered down religion that holds no Biblical absolutes, hence the people that do not study God’s word for themselves are left in the dark as to what God requires of them, and thus they become lost and blind to the truth.
The Israel nations are presently under judgment, but all is not lost, for God is still calling us to repentance and back to Him. “Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord, and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you, for I am merciful, saith the Lord. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou has transgressed against the Lord, thy God…Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord, for I am married unto you:…And I will give you shepherds according to mine heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” (Jer. 3:12-15). Also read Isa. 44:21-24.
Thus, God is here promising to give His people preachers and pastors that will expound His truths. The question remains though, will the pew warmers listen to sound doctrine and truths, or will it upset their denominational applecart by causing them to take responsibility for their follies in rejecting what the Bible teaches?
Yes, it is time for change, not a change for new and uncertain things, but a change back to a way of principled living according to God’s Holy Word, Statutes and Law. Let’s get away from our lukewarm Laodicean attitude and study God’s Word to find ourselves approved (2Tim. 2:15). Pray to God for forgiveness, for strength and for healing. When we do that as the whole body of believers God has promised to answer our petition.
“If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2Chron. 7:14).
That is an awesome and wonderful promise, let it not slip by. We won’t get many more chances for the time is short. Yes, it is time for change, so let’s change for the better. For that will be pleasing to our God and it might just save your life for entry in the Kingdom that is soon to come.
