This Country Needs Help

Dear Editor: When I was a young girl the world was much different. It is God who made the western nations great and it is God who is hiding His face from us now, because as Moses wrote, we have become a perverse and crooked generation.

Harry S. Truman knew the secret of greatness and in a speech in Washington on April 3rd, 1951; he shared the secret when he said. “I do not think that anyone can study the history of this nation of ours without becoming convinced that Divine Providence has played a great part in it. I have the feeling that God has created us and brought us to our present position of power and strength for some great purpose. It is not given to us now to know fully what that purpose is. But I think we may be sure of one thing …. It is given to us to defend the spiritual values – the moral code – against the vast forces of evil that seek to destroy them. This is a hard task. It is not one that we have asked for. At times we would like to lay it down. But we need not be afraid if we have faith.”

Obviously, some subsequent presidents have, as Truman wrote, “laid it down”. The result is what America is faced with today. I would add, who is dead, God or man?

Editor’s Comments: Yes, Ms. Zibolsky, God is hiding His face from us. He warned we Israelites of this in Hosea 5:15, “I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence …” We are a long way from acknowledging it and the curses set out in Deuteronomy 28:43 are very much in evidence today, perhaps led by “The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high, and thou shall come down very low”

I often think of the late Jim Read’s thoughts on Isaiah 54:17 which reads; “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me saith the Lord.” Israel, meaning primarily the Anglo-Saxon nations,, is immune from defeat in war. However this is conditional on Israel obeying God’s Laws and being in harmony with Him. It is also dependent on Israel being the defender against evil aggression, and she must never be the aggressor, but always the defender of righteousness. “I think Jim Read was right but I also believe a huge weapon is hurting us badly, and God is permitting it because of our disobedience. And this is the weapon of “DEBT”, which has imperiled all the western nations and made us servants to lenders. Debt has been accompanied by all the evil now visible to all that understand.

The penultimate paragraph of a Pastor Dan Gayman article in the winter 2012 issue of The Watchman demonstrates the reason for the decline. I repeat it in part, “The spiritual and moral decline in the United States [Ed. and other Israel nations] began after World War 2. The 1960’s witnessed a total sea change in America’s attitude toward God, prayer, the Bible, moral behavior, and all things Christian. The plunging spiritual and moral life of America has resulted in a loss of our prosperity and nations security.”
