The Shaking Of The Nations

It feels today as if almost everything we have known in our Israel nations is being shaken to the core. Not only is the physical earth being shaken but as it says in Hebrews 12:25-27 that everything in the earth and the heavens that can be shaken will be shaken;“See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.” I think these verses are amazing. Only the things that cannot be shaken will remain. The very foundations of our earth are being shaken and causing much distress and perplexity, as it says in Luke 21:25-26, “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” All the institutions that we counted on to run our countries are failing. Our education system, our government, the financial institutions, and our culture are all in upheaval. Our churches and our Christian faith are in distress, as we have abandoned our God and are suffering the consequences. God is shaking our nations with His judgment to awaken us out of our slumber and help us to recognize our condition. Isaiah 24 speaks of this judgment and the shaking of the foundations of the earth. We are in a mess, and we must look to God and His protection to guide us through these difficult times. His ways are the things that cannot be shaken and that will survive.

We know that there is to be a great shaking of everything that will happen before the Lord’s return.  It appears that this shaking is getting stronger and stronger, as our enemies begin to realize they are being exposed, so they start to fight harder and create more division and stress in our nations. Through all their pride and arrogance, though they are making mistakes as they realize more and more that people are waking up as to what they are doing, so they are rushing things along and being carless. They are exposing themselves for who they are. This will cause more shaking, as we continue to have this struggle between good and evil We are in a spiritual war and these evil ones will soon be defeated. Joel 3:15-17 also mentions that the heavens and earth shall shake. “The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The Lord shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.So shall ye know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.”

We must always remember that through all of this, God is working on our behalf. We will have to go through these trials and tribulations, just as everyone else does, but He will lead us and if we follow Him and keep our faith strong by being close to Him daily, we will get through it all and see that glorious day when He returns. 2Thess. 2:1-3 says, “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” Satan thinks he has all the power right now but he knows his time is short so there will be a lot of shaking and turbulence before he falls. We must be ready for many unexpected things, perhaps even miracles, to happen in the next while as this shaking takes place, but we must not fear what is happening as God is with us and we must look up! Rev. 6:12-17 says, “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” It is those of us who have built a firm foundation on Jesus Christ that cannot be shaken. We will be able to stand.

“And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathereth ears in the valley of Rephaim. Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith theLordGod of Israel.At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.” (Isa.17:5-7)
