An Even More Confusing World
In 2019 I wrote an article called A World of Confusion and when I look back at the article, I can’t believe how much the world has become even more confusing. Everyday things we used to do without thought have now become at times a major event, as there appears to be no absolutes and everyone has a different idea about what is correct or what is wrong. What can we say, what can we do, what is allowed in today’s society? It is very confusing. This is not what God intended, “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” (1Cor. 14:33) If we were living by God’s commandments and His Laws everything would be very clear but since we have abandoned them, we are covered in a web of confusion and uncertainty. What we always thought was right is now perceived as wrong and what we thought was wrong is now perceived as right. What has happened? We are so deluded, and it is leading us astray and into a world of darkness, confusion and uncertainty. We do not know which way to turn so we do nothing and evil prevails. We therefore have lost the peace and security that we had when we followed God’s laws and commandments and walked with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ daily.
I wrote in 2019 that “Our Israel lands as well as most of the world are floundering under this confusion resulting in anger, riots, murders, depression, suicides, wars, etc., etc.”, and these things have escalated and gotten even more violent. The whole world is full of turmoil and every day we hear of new events happening around the globe. Of course, since 2019 we have experienced all the events of the Covid crisis and how it has drastically changed so many people’s lives. We now also have the war in the Ukraine with the powerful Russia. This has also caused much devastation and many lives lost on both sides. The outcome at this time is still uncertain and we don’t know if will escalate further to a world war. It is just more confusion in an already confusing world. It seems that all our Israel nations are in some sort of turmoil and all of the things that kept our countries stable are being dismissed and consequently has led to chaos and confusion. Many people are experiencing financial hardships and those trying to feed their families are under much distress due to the increased inflation. This adds to everyone’s anxiety
With all the demonstrations happening around the globe it is obvious that people are unhappy but unfortunately most of them do not know the reason for this confusion. They do not realize that Satan is the author of confusion and is using this confusion to destroy us. We have taken our eyes off God, who loves us, but turned our eyes to Satan, the author of confusion. If we do not turn back to God soon there will be no turning back. We must fall on our knees before our Saviour God and repent, not only for our own sins, but as a whole nation for the sins of our country. If we do not let God into our lives and into the affairs of our nations, how can he possibly help us? We are then on our own and that does not appear to be working very well, does it?
We live in a fallen world and unfortunately are affected by many things in this world that we cannot avoid. James 3:13-18 offers these wise words to us,“Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”
The following is from the Book of Common Prayer, The Fourth Sunday After Easter. The Collect. “O ALMIGHTY God who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men: Grant unto thy people, that they may love the thing which thou commandest, and desire that which thou dost promise; that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed, where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” I bolded the words here as they apply to us today.
