Hope Of The Glory Of God
It is important that as events appear to continue to get worse that we recognize that God is in all of this. These are not just random events that are happening now, but they are events that are leading to Jesus Christ’s return and the full restoration of the Kingdom on earth, as it says in the Lord’s prayer. Oh, what a great day that will be when Jesus returns. He is the hope during this time of tribulation. It is a time not for us to worry and fret over all that is happening, but a time for us to develop patience and faith in the knowledge of God which passes all understanding. This is especially needed today when we are in a time where most people are not aware at all of that is happening and have a very limited scope of what these events are leading to. It reminds me of these verses in Isaiah, “I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass and cut in sunder the bars of iron:And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, theLord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.I am theLord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:” (Isa. 45:2-5). He was leading us to our new lands even when we did not know who we were. He has always guided us and made a way for us that kept us safe. He is still doing this. Be patient and watch what God will do.
Today, He is still always there for us and giving us that peace that passes understanding. Philippians 4:6-8 says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” We should try to live our lives with the glory of God filling us up through the Holy Spirit. The things of this world are quickly falling apart as we no longer follow God’s laws, and the rulers of this world are leading us to destruction. They think they are in control, but they haven’t a clue and God laughs. His Kingdom come, His will be done, not theirs but they are blind in their own power and conceit. Their pride will bring them down as pride always does before a fall. You can already see their control starting to slip as more and more people are becoming aware of what is happening. God is starting to reveal their corruption and deceit and opening our eyes and ears to His Word.
There are a number of things happening around the world where people are resisting and also some colleges and universities in the USA such as Asbury University in Kentucky which are having a Christian revival. Most of these are young people and we must pray that God is making Himself known to them and that Christ will be glorified through the Holy Spirit. It has been going on for a many days. There was also a Jesus March Revival in Santa Monica where two thousand people marched for Jesus to publicly proclaim their faith. These events are happening in various places, so perhaps many people, especially young people, are starting to see that the world is not working for them and they need Jesus. We all need Jesus! “Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” (John 11:40). This is our hope, the glory of God when we believe. As one fellow from my church said recently after we had been discussing many of the awful things happening today, “Come quickly Lord Jesus!” and I agree. As the final verse in the hymn “To God Be The Glory” says:
“Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.Refrain:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done.”
