There’s A Showdown Coming
Our opening text is the beginning of the ten commandments which God gave to His people Mount Sinai. This Law is the foundation of our society and our culture. It is the Word of Almighty God. As Andrew Jackson put it, the Word of God is the foundation upon which our Republic rests. ““The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” Psalms 19:7-11
Writing as an American, I can tell you that there was a time when we were a much better country than we are today. It was a time when the Word of God was actually a part of the curriculum in the public schools. I can remember learning Bible lessons as a child in first grade.
But that all changed with the Engel v. Vitale ruling from the Supreme Court in 1962. We have been in decline ever since.
The enemies of Christ — they who are of the synagogue of Satan — hate the Word of God, and try to diminish it at every opportunity. They are of their father the devil, as Jesus said . . . “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:44
We read of the sin of Lucifer in Isaiah 14:13-14 …. “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”
And he is still at it today.
I believe we are in the final days before the Return of our Lord Jesus Christ to this world in power and great glory. The signs of His return are all present with us today, and have been with us for some time.
Something interesting has happened just recently which I believe adds to the weight of evidence of Christ’s soon return. It was announced last year that a one world religion headquarters was set to open sometime this year. It has not happened yet but will soon.
Quoting from the article, One World Religion Headquarters Set To Open Next Year by Dr. Eugene Bach … “A One World Religion Headquarters is set to open in 2022. The headquarters will be called The Abrahamic Family House and is being built on an island in the middle eastern city of Abu Dhabi.
The headquarters is being done in collaboration with Pope Francis and Sunni Muslim leader, Sheikh Ahmen al-Tayeb, after they both signed a global peace covenant called the Document of Human Fraternity for World Peace.
The stated purpose of the Abrahamic Family House is to bring understanding and tolerance among the faiths, but there are a couple of notable challenges. First, Abu Dhabi is a part of the UAE [ The United Arab Emirates] where it is illegal for Christians to proselytize and conversion from Islam is prohibited. The Pope represents Roman Catholicism where Christians are free to convert to Islam, but citizens of Abu Dhabi are not free to choose Christ…
The One World Religion Headquarters will have three buildings: one building each representing the mosque, church, and synagogue. However, the church is not permitted to have a cross on the building as a method of identifying it, as it is illegal to display a Christian cross on a building in the UAE.”
So, they’re going to open a One World Religion Headquarters to bring tolerance and understanding, but they’ve built it in a country where conversion is illegal and where those who convert to Christianity could legally be killed? Isn’t that the opposite of tolerance and understanding?
But that’s not all. Religious leaders from all over the world gathered at Mount Sinai in November for the COP27 Climate Conference, the purpose of which was to “repent for manmade climate change” and to announce ten new commandments that will be in line with climate change. No, I am not kidding.
According to the UN, climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperature and weather patterns, mainly caused by human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels. A recent headline reads: Activists Smash Tablets atop Mount Sinai To Launch Faith-Based Climate Push. I quote some of the article for the reader here. Whether this is the actual Mount Sinai of Moses or not, the symbolism is unmistakable.
13 November 2022, 9:53 pm … JEBEL MUSA, Egypt — “An initiative to mobilize faith leaders worldwide to push governments to do more about climate change kicked off Sunday morning with an Israeli environmental activist smashing mock tablets of stone atop an Egyptian peak believed by many to be Mount Sinai, to symbolize the world’s failure to protect the planet.”
The idea was hatched in the run up to the United Nations COP27 Climate Conference taking place in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, by the Jerusalem-based Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development.
After the group read from a new draft list of “Ten Principles for Climate Repentance,” formulated by dozens of multifaith leaders meeting in London over the past few days, one of the leaders smashed two tablets on the ground. When Moses broke the tablets it was in disgust for what the people had done, and the depth to which they had sunk in just forty days! But this breaking of tablets recently on the mount was not out of disgust for the sin of the people and the breaking of God’s Law! What these religious leaders seem to be saying is that God’s Law is no longer important; what is more important is that we take care of this world and our fellow man. “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools . . . Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” Romans 1:22,25
So, what are these new ten commandments?
- We are stewards of this world
- Creation manifests deity
- Everything in life is interconnected
- Do no harm
- Look after tomorrow
- Rise above ego for our world
- Change our inner climate
- Repent and return
- Every action matters
- Use mind, open heart
Notice something? There is absolutely nothing these new commandments about the true and living God whatsoever! It is all about mankind and the world. No god but us. So … how important are these “Ten Principles”? Will the people of the world be forced to comply with these new commandments from Mount Sinai? And if so, what will become of those who refuse to comply? Will they be discriminated against? Will they be persecuted?
Just look at the past nearly three years and you have your answer.
But fret not, dear reader. Take courage. As Elijah exhorted the people, so I exhort the reader: “ … How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him . . .” 1 Kings 18:21
Prepare yourselves dear friends, and look up!
There’s a showdown coming! God is preparing to show forth His great power just as He did in Elijah’s day! And it’s going to be wonderful! Hallelujah!
