The Truth Is Lost
We are living in very confusing and complicated times. So many things are happening at once that it is hard to keep up. When we do try to find out what is happening it is difficult to find the truth for it is lost in so many lies and opinions that are leading us down a road to destruction. The following is a comment from one person at the end of an article I read on the internet, on what is happening today, “We are at war. But because this war is being fought so differently, most fail to even realize that we are at war. No guns, planes, soldiers in uniform, tanks. No. This war is being fought using lies, deceit, manipulation, coercion, bullying, intimidation, stealth, and subterfuge.” I thought that this comment said it all. This is exactly what is happening today. We do not need to tell the truth anymore. We seem to be able to say anything we want to get our own way without any repercussions. Our leaders these days are doing a very good job with this tactic and are leading our Israel nations down a road to destruction, if we do not wake up.
This is a problem for we Christians today, as we think so differently about many things than the rest of the world and we feel slightly dazed at all that has happened recently. In the sermon this last Sunday the minister said that we Christians are living like we are in a community in exile. It does sometimes feel that way, as we are not in sync with the world view on many things. A large part of this difference in what is truth and what is not, as we try to live our lives by how the Bible says we should. Sadly, the world does not want to do this. They think that God is boring, and the Bible is old fashioned. This is the struggle we have today, as these people, and so many of them are young, do not know the Lord and do not have the Holy Spirit living in them to guide and direct them. We must pray for our people that they will come out of their blindness and see the hope that is in Jesus Christ. As it stands now, they have little hope. “Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.” (C.S. Lewis) We who walk with Jesus every day have that hope and know His truth. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1Peter 1:3-5)
As we see so much of our history being questioned and destroyed, it is hard to accept this new reality in the world, but God is at work in our people, and we must be strong and ready to act on His behalf when He calls upon us. People are confused today and although it may appear that they don’t want to hear anything different, a time is coming where they will hopefully realize this world is not working and will want to hear what we have to say. We have a great history and God has been leading His people through it all. Many times, in the past Israel has abandoned their God and come to regret it. This will happen again, I believe shortly, as people are beginning to see what is happening to our nations and do not like it. It is interesting that many of the new children’s shows and books that have come out with the new world view are not doing well. Parents are starting to say, “Hey this is not what I want my child to be exposed to.” It’s a start anyway. Isn’t it true that evil eventually implodes on itself and maybe they are starting to go too far and are exposing themselves? Could it be that the truth is starting to be revealed? We must watch what God is doing in these difficult times and be ready to speak of our faith, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” (1Pet. 3:15).
We worship an awesome God. Christianity is the only religion where God Himself came down to earth from Heaven to sacrifice Himself for us, to save us, because He loves us. He created us. It is not by our works but by His grace that we are saved. His mercy and truth endure forever. He is Almighty God, He is truth. “Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand. Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance” (Psa. 89:13-15). Yes, we are blessed.
Jesus has the final word, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14: 6).
