What Are You Willing to Give For Peace?
This is a pertinent question, a vital question. It is something that seems to keep on intruding and stamping itself into our conscience in the quiet moments when we are alone. In these days I question if there are many who have not felt the impulse to do something about the matter – to offer something. I believe that we are all, today, in a state of flux, as it were, being changed by the circumstances of the great tribulation which we are passing through. Well, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ gave all, and I believe that our God expects us to offer all.
Isaiah, that great prophet of the Lord, seems to point to this day and to this “offering” in Chap. 18: 4-7:- “For so the Lord said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest. For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks and take away and cut down the branches. They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains and to the beasts of the earth, and the fowls shall summer upon them and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
“In that time shall the present be brought unto the Lord of Hosts, of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto: a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the Lord of Hosts, the Mount Zion .”
For further reference please look up Isa. 14:1-3; Isa. 66:20; and Micah 4:1-8. The Anglo-Saxon Celtic people are, today, swiftly approaching their great crisis, a crisis described in Jer. 30:7; Dan. 12:1; and Matt. 24:21- a crisis described by our Lord and Saviour as the greatest crisis since the beginning of the world. Will you please examine carefully the foregoing quotation from Isaiah and see how they are substantiated in Ezek. 39:4 and also in Ezek. 39:17-19. I do not need to point out to you that the “beast” has made up his mind to “go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to take away many”. I do not need to point out to you that our Lord gave us many signs so that we could identify the days we are living in now as the “latter days”. He said also it would be like the days of Noah just before the flood, and surely you have witnessed the events that have transpired amongst us on an almost daily basis.
The “present” that we are about to bring to the Lord of the Harvest is Ourselves and all we possess. We are at the crossing just as Jacob came to the brook of cleansing before his name was changed to Israel – a prince reigning with God. Gen. 32:24-30. Please note carefully that Jacob was alone at the brook when the stranger met him. Just so, Jacob (True Israel) will be alone with their God when they receive the blessing of peace and their name is changed to Israel.
What are you willing to give for peace
And the dawn of a perfect day?
What are you willing to give for peace
That the Enemy might not have his sway?
Are you willing to offer your life – your all
As He gave on the Cross that day, or,
Do you pine and whine for those good old days
That are gone and passed away?
What are you willing to give for peace?
It’s most vital, you will agree.
Will you offer your riches and all you possess
That the children of Israel might see?
Are you willing to suffer as Jesus did
For the Kingdom of God today.
Will you shirk, or work, and offer yourself
To the King who is on His way?
In Zephaniah 3:10 we read “From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my Suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.” This means, to me, that from the four corners of the earth Israel will seek God earnestly and submissively. What a day this will be – the Great Revival! Joel 2:28, 29; Acts 2:16-18. He will bring even the blind by a way that they know not. Isa. 42:16. He will send men out in these days – in the immediate future who will bring in the poor, the maimed, the halt and the blind to the great supper of the Bridegroom. He will even compel them to come in, but none of those that were, in the first place, bidden to come will taste of the supper. Luke 14:16-24.
We are living in the days of the judgment of the nations. The sheep are being placed on His right hand and the goats on His left. The tares are being bundled in preparation for burning. While He says unto Israel -“Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout O Israel, be glad and rejoice with all thy heart, O daughter of Jerusalem”. And why? “For the Lord hath taken away thy judgments. He hath cast out thine enemy. The King of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.
