‘To Boldly Go’

In Holly Mills excellent article in the October 2021 issue of TKC, we read of Queen Esther being urged by Mordecai to “…go into the King (Ahasuerus) to make supplication unto him, and make request before him for her people”.

But as “…all the King’s servants, and the people of the King’s provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the King into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the King shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live”.

Esther was aware that she had not been called to come unto the King for 30 days we are told, and thus under the given circumstances we can understand her hesitancy!

However, she did her duty and it could be said she boldly interceded for the sake of her people, who would otherwise have been put to death because of the evil trickery of Haman who sought to have them destroyed.

We have to consider here that it was going into the ‘King’s inner court’ if one had not been called, or summoned, that warranted the punishment of death – unless the King held out the golden sceptre.

Can we see here a parallel with the King’s Inner Chamber to that of the Holy of Holies in the Temple? And is there here a message for us in our present time?

In Hebrews 10 verse 19 onwards in our Tyndale’s New Testament we read; “Seeing brethren that by the means of the blood of Jesus, we may be bold to enter into that holy place, by the new and living way, which He hath prepared for us, through the veil, that is to say by His flesh. And seeing also that we have an High Priest which is ruler over the House of God, let us draw nigh with a true heart in a full faith, sprinkled in our hearts from an evil conscience, and washed in our bodies with pure water, and let us keep the profession of our hope, without wavering (for He is faithful that promised) and let us consider one another to promote unto love, and to good works, and let us not forsake the fellowship that we have among ourselves, as the manner of some is: but let us exhort one another, and that so much more, because ye see that the day draweth nigh.”

Whilst Esther may not have been called by the King, she had certainly been chosen (by God), And to this we should remember Our Lord’s parable concerning the Wedding Garment (Matthew 22:11-14); “And when the King came in to see the guests, he saw there a man that had not on a wedding garment: and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the King to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.”

We could say that Haman is represented by this man, as he was the false pretender and got his comeuppance!

In today’s world there is so much evil and wickedness that it is indeed akin to the days of Noah, and it is all very, very, serious – so much so that Our Lord’s return must be very close indeed. We have to realise that the devil is determined to destroy God’s Israel people, just as was Haman in Esther’s time. And it is important to understand that we – as both Christians and BI believers– Watchmen (and women) – have a duty to both speak out when we can, to our fellow Israelites and Christians and to dare to enter into the ‘King’s Inner Chamber’ – the Holy of Holies – and petition the Lord for His people, being confident that the Sceptre will be in the hands of our High Priest, Our Lord and Our King, Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

As Dr. Michael Bennett said in his article; “The Importance of the Bible” from the Jan/Apr ‘21 issue of the British Israel Bible Truth magazine; “Our national legislators have robbed us of God’s Laws, and our teachers have robbed our children of God’s Truth, so that our land is fast becoming a wilderness. But, if our land is becoming a wilderness, let there be no lack of a voice to cry in it. “Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God”. We need to seek to restate and reaffirm, those Bible Truths which were delivered to us originally by God Himself, and elevated and enriched the lives of our fathers.”

Ephesians 6 v 19 says; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel.

Hebrews 13 v 6; So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Finally Hebrews 4 v 16 asks; Let us therefore come boldly unto the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

The time of need is now! O Lord deliver Thy people, and open their eyes, hearts and minds back to Thee. Forgive us our sins – that are very many – and awaken us from the delusions all around. Without Thee O Lord we are lost – but with Thee, we are saved.
