Re-Clothe Us in Our Rightful Mind
There is a well known saying: ‘whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad’ – and if there is any truth in that, we are ripe for destruction, for I see a lot of madness in our once Christian, God fearing lands. We are currently in the midst of a contrived and chaotic situation. The corona virus has been used very effectively to take away many of the freedoms we have up to now enjoyed, and I believe it will be strung out for as long as it takes – to destroy our way of life completely (and we have been rendered helpless).
I have found myself wondering just what our late friend Pastor Alan Campbell would make of these unfolding events. It is worth remembering that he always said, if something happened, it had been allowed to do so. And this virus is no exception!
Just to help validate this point let me quote from a letter my husband (Alan) wrote to a local paper back in 2002: ‘In 1992, Henry Kissinger, the chief mover and shaper of the coming World Government said at a meeting in Evian, France: – Today Americans would be outraged if UN troops entered Los Angeles to restore order: tomorrow they will be grateful. This is especially true if they were told there was an outsider threat, real or promulgated that threatened their very existence. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being. “
Alan also said in letter, ‘Similarly, vaccinations will be forced on everyone under emergency regulations…’
Whilst God’s people Israel have been dwelling carelessly in the Isles (and in other Israelite lands), the enemy has slunk in under our very eyes, getting a grip on all we once held dear, and perverting them. Our government, church leaders and others in authority, are falling over themselves in order to comply with the politically correct, non-sexist, carbon free, rainbow coloured way they have been urged to take. If ever there was a suitable correlation to the story of the king’s invisible suit of clothes, this is it. For the world is truly deluded – believing in things that do not exist and are not real.
George Orwell’s ” 1984 ” portrayed a world controlled by brain washing, whereby the people were constantly bombarded with propaganda that saturated their minds and so they lost the ability to think for themselves and relied upon their controllers for everything. And this is pretty much what is being attempted today. It is our minds that are under attack!
If you think about this, you will realise that it is our minds that connect us to God. When we pray to Him, we are directing our thoughts to Him – heaven-wards. And whilst we consider that our leaders, who are already deceived, are now attempting to deceive us, we need to remember who the great deceiver is – for he is the one behind it all. The devil has made his ultimate move, and from this, truly, only God can save us!
Since the battle is for control of our minds, we must endeavour to fill them with the Word of God. Much is around to distract and disrupt our thinking. So many TV channels to choose, the internet, social media, DVD’s, sport. And our TV channels are full of babbling voices vainly giving their politically correct views on life, the universe, and everything. God is never mentioned, nor is His Son Our Saviour Jesus Christ. Truly it can be said of these people that: “They set their mouth against the heavens and their tongue walketh through the earth. ” (see Psalm 73:9).
We read in Titus chapter 1:15: ”Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure: but even their mind and conscience is defiled.” And this is where we are today. Paul tells the Ephesians in chapter 4:17-19 : ” This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind. Having their understanding darkened being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart. Who being past feeling have given themselves over to lasciviousness, to work all uncleaness with greediness. ”
Indeed, as Paul tells us in Romans 12:2 ”… be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.’ ‘
So let us pray fervently for each other, for forgiveness of our sins, for protection from the great delusion all around us, and that our minds are kept firmly upon Almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ.
Daniel was favoured above all others in the Median kingdom of Darius, just as Joseph had been in Egypt. The other princes and presidents were jealous and sought to find a way to turn the king against him: ”Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God. ” (Dan 6:5).
By flattery they tricked Darius into signing a royal statute and decree devised by themselves, making it illegal for anyone to ”ask a petition of any God or man for 30 days save of thee O king…” The punishment was for the offender to be cast into the den of lions.
Now, Daniel regularly prayed to the Lord three times a day, and although the decree was told to him, he continued as before, trusting as always in the Lord his God. He was, as we know, taken in the act of praying and cast into the lions’ den. Darius the king was very upset, but assured Daniel that his God would save him. Despite this he fasted and could not sleep. The lions did not harm Daniel and Darius was so impressed he made the following decree: ”I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for He is the living God, and steadfast for ever, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His Dominion shall be even unto the end. ” (Dan 6 v 26).
So, let us continue to pray to Our Lord in the face of all adversity, and for those around us. And as it says in Hebrews 4 verse 16: ” Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of Grace, that we May obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. ”
And surely the time of need is now!
Dear Lord and Father of Mankind,
Forgive our foolish ways.
Re – clothe us in our rightful mind,
In purer lives Thy service find,
In deeper reverence praise
In deeper reverence praise.
