Exit Bondage
By Alan and Jackie Edwards
At 11 p.m. on 31st December 2020, the transition period having been completed, and a trading-deal agreed with the EU (albeit not perfect; fishing & Northern Ireland…), we exited completely from our bondage to Europe. And at 11 p.m. Big Ben struck eleven times. This is important, because apart from the odd occasion, due to the Elizabeth Tower undergoing repairs, Big Ben has not struck since that day in August 2017 when the total eclipse of the sun crossed the United States of America.
One hour later, at twelve o’clock midnight, Big Ben struck again – twelve times – to welcome in the new year of 2021. So, we had first eleven ‘bongs’ then twelve ‘bongs’. Eleven plus twelve is 23. It was 23rd June 2016 that the referendum that heralded Brexit first took place. (Ed. The final week of the 7th prophetic hour began?)
The twenty-third Psalm as we all know, is “The Lord is my Shepherd…”.
Two plus Three equals Five, and 5 is the number of Grace. 2021 also adds up to 5.
Just prior to the Israelites leaving Egypt in the Exodus, an awful plague swept across Egypt, taking the first born of the Egyptian peoples – it was this which finally caused Pharaoh to allow the Israelites to leave. The Israelites had been told to stay in their houses that night with the blood of a lamb smeared upon their doors and lintels to protect them from that plague.
On New Years Eve Boris Johnson urged everyone to stay at home (rather than go out to celebrate the New Year). And of course, we – and the world – have experienced a plague throughout this year.
So, let us all look forward to 2021 as a year of the Lord’s Grace – and pray that the land – the world – will be healed of this plague. Trust in The Lord, for He is our Shepherd indeed. “Come out of her My People that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues… “! (Rev 18:44)
Ephraim, Manasseh, and Judah, come all Israel, come back to our Shepherd – our Lord!
