Lift Up and Exalt The Lord Jesus Christ

“Be Thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Thy glory be above all the earth.” Psalm 57:5

This should be our greatest desire, our reason for living, our purpose in life — lifting up, exalting and glorifying our blessed Lord and the Saviour of our souls — the Lord Jesus Christ! To the follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, nothing else matters as much as this and nothing else can compare to this. It is far more to be desired than being popular or well loved. We have no desire to promote ourselves or to become well known or famous. We seek no praise, no fame, no glory. We seek only to tell others about our blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, His Holy Kingdom and His resplendent glory.

There is nothing that compares to the glory and majesty of our Lord Jesus Christ, and we His creatures will only find true meaning and purpose for our lives when we bask in His glory, praise His matchless Name and seek to do His perfect Will. That is when we find the greatest joy and rest for our souls. There is no other joy that can be compared to it. It is what we were designed to do, and what we will do throughout the ceaseless ages of time.There are many people and groups out there who want our attention, and who tell us that if we will listen to and follow them they will lead us to God — but how do you know who to trust?

Here is a good rule to follow. If they lift up and exalt anyone or anything other than our Lord Jesus Christ, then we know that the Lord is far from them. But if all they desire is to lift up and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ, and bring glory, praise and honour to Him, we know that they truly do know Him.

Here then is the mark of the true believer. Here is how we can differentiate between those who claim to know the Lord and those who actually do.

So be not deceived and be not led astray.
