Moses – Author of the Pentateuch
There has been great controversy as to whether or not the Pentateuch was written by Moses, though there seems little reason for a Christian to doubt it, for Jesus Christ and His Apostles attributed it to him and so did the Jewish scholars of their day. No less an authority than Sir Frederic Kenyon states categorically: “It is not permissible to assume that a detailed code of laws could not have been compiled in the time of Moses and handed down in written form.” Moreover, Moses was a highly educated and competent person: “learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians” (Acts vii). Who better qualified to do it than he?
