Babylon Will Fail
I believe we are approaching the fall of Babylon, as predicted in the book of Revelation. “And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.” Revelation 18:21. It will be with violence, as the prophecy states. I believe Babylon will come to an end with the Third World War and the return of Christ.
For hundreds of years, the British Empire was the greatest empire on the earth since Rome. It came to an end with the great depression and the two world wars. Shortly before and after the Second World War it could not be maintained economically and became the British Commonwealth. As the Queen pointed out in her Christmas address, it is still a body of over two billion people. However, it does not have the influence on the world that the British Empire had. Today the greatest empire on earth is the American Empire, which is an economic empire, although it also conquers countries militarily. However, the American Empire is failing, and predictions are that it will soon be replaced by an Asian Empire. Recently there was an article in the business section of Fox News, written by Jade Scipion, that discussed the predictions of the British based financial service company Standard Chartered in which they projected the positions of national economies based on current trends of economic growth. Their predictions may seem startling to western citizens. They predict that in just twelve years the leading economy of the world will be China, followed by India, and the United States will be pushed into third place. I believe President Donald Trump sees what is happening and is trying to stop China growing at the expense of America. Also, his motto is, “Make America great again.” However, just working with the economy will not make America remain in first place on the world scene.
The problem in the U.S.A. and all modern Israel nations, is that Babylon has invaded our nations. I believe Babylon has been promoted by the descendants of Esau. Babylon was characterized by the worship of many gods. “They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.” Daniel 5:4. The worship of many gods by many religions is accepted and promoted in our Israel lands. Babylon was characterized by a love for gold. “Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.” Daniel 3: 7. Our Israel people have fallen into the trap of desiring wealth rather than desiring the Holy Spirit. Babylon was characterized by humanism, the glorification of human beings. “The king spake, and said, is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?” Daniel 4:30. Our Israel people do not thank God for the blessings they have been given. They believe they have done it all. Babylon was characterized by sexual sins. “And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth.” Revelation 17:5. Our Israel people have abandoned the restrictions of marriage. They no longer think of fornication as a sin. They also accept some sexual sins that are labeled abominations in the Bible, such as homosexual unions. (Leviticus 18:22).
The Bible says to come out of Babylon. I believe this means we are to turn to Jesus Christ and his commandments and pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit, instead of desiring the things of this world. Just because Babylon is influencing everything around us, we do not have to follow its doctrines. Jesus advised his disciples to be as wise as serpents, and as harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16). We cannot stop Babylon, but we will see it destroyed by the Third World War and the return of Christ. The prophecy in Revelation 18:21 says Babylon will be thrown down with violence. At that time true Israelites will call upon God for help in our desperate hour. Even if many of our people do not become born again at that time, He will hear their prayers because of His love for Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and because of our Christian ancestors who prayed for us in past ages.
Will Asia take over the title of Babylon and become the new world government? I do not think so. There is a prophecy in the Apocrypha which might be applicable. I believe the Apocrypha is a corrupted book, with some passages from God and some passages from man. Judge for yourself the validity of writings in the Apocrypha. “And thou Asia, that art partaker of the hope of Babylon, and art the glory of her person: Woe be unto thee, thou wretch, because thou hast made thyself like unto her; and hast decked thy daughters in whoredom, that they might please and glory in thy lovers, which have always desired to commit whoredom with thee. Thou hast followed her that is hated in all her works and inventions; therefore saith God, I will send plagues upon thee; widowhood, poverty, famine, sword, and pestilence, to waste thy houses with destruction and death. And the glory of thy power shall be dried up as a flower, the heat shall arise that is sent over thee.” 2 Esdras 15: 46-50. The Asia of that time period is not the same as the Asia of today, but perhaps the prophecy has a double fulfilment. Chapters 15&16 of this book are interesting reading as they mention a time of war, plagues on the earth, massive storms in the ocean, floods, and earthquakes. Could we be approaching that terrible time? Perhaps we are at the beginning of it already. I thought one verse described nuclear destruction very vividly. Esdras called the vision horrible as he looked toward the east. “The great and mighty clouds shall be puffed up full of wrath, and the star, that they may make all the earth afraid, and them that dwell therin; and they shall pour out over every high and eminent place an horrible star,” 2 Esdras 15:40. Could the mighty clouds be mushroom clouds, and could the horrible stars be sky bursts of hydrogen bombs?
After the fall of Babylon there will be rejoicing in heaven (Revelation chapters 18&19) followed by the marriage supper of the Lamb (Jesus Christ). After that Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God will bring peace and rest to this poor old battered world.
