Preparing For The Destruction

Today more than ever we are faced with the possibility of tremendous destruction of human life on the planet. I have been amazed at the speed with which North Korea has developed weapons of mass destruction. Early this year analysts predicted that within three years the country would develop an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of hitting the coast of the United States. It took them three months. They recently tested one that could hit Alaska. The leader of North Korea is probably insane, having murdered his uncle and step brother and various people who spoke out against him. The response by governments in our Israel nations is proposing economic sanctions and protesting to China, the country that is keeping the North Korean government in power.

Protesting to China will not work. They are a Communist country. The late Howard Rand wrote, “Communism has laid a foundation of deception and strife that looks to the ultimate destruction of all righteousness. Its aim is world domination by an elite echelon of despotic tyrants who will oppress the people under their heel and make them the slaves of the state.” This quote is from an article he wrote entitled “A Destroying Storm”. I believe China wants North Korea to develop nuclear weapons capable of destroying large parts of the United States. I do not know if nuclear weapons will ever be unleashed against the United States or other Israel nations, but I believe our people have to go through a time of great conflict, culminating in a great war in the Middle East. (Ezekiel 38 and 39) If Russia is involved in it, China will also be involved in it. We can only imagine the destruction from such a war, beyond anything seen in the history of the world.

After the war people will not be aware of the second destruction that is coming with the return of Christ. “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:29-30. “For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. For by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many”. Isaiah 66:15-16. The enemies of Christ will be taken out of the Israel nations (his Kingdom) so that he will not have opposition to his reign. “As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” Matthew 13:40-43.

When we consider the dreadful events that are coming, we might ask, “But what can we do about it? How can we prepare for the destruction that is coming?” The answer is in the Bible. When speaking about these great end time events, Jesus said, “Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.” Luke 17:33. The answer is that we must lose our lives. I lost my life when I was fourteen years old. The apostle Paul wrote to the Galatians about how he lost his life. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20. Christ must live in us. That is the ark that lifts us above the destruction. That is the power that delivers us from Sodom, and we can have confidence that we are sealed for eternity and our lives are forever in the Lord’s hands.
