He was just 22, and he took 22 others to their deaths with him as he so callously perpetrated his suicide mission in Manchester. Salman Ramadan Abedi, a Britisher of Libyan nationality, was a servant of ISIS, the face of evil terrorism who soon came to the fore accepting responsibility. Some 59 Britishers suffered a variety of injuries as well in the bombing. Abedi was known to authorities as a person to watch, but then, according to sources, are some 23,000 other Islamic immigrants or refugees.
What to do? We are living at a moment of time where terrorism is creating fear amongst the people of the nation, in fact, throughout all the western world. And what they doing through their actions is casting a bad light on even those good law-abiding Middle-East people who have made their home in our countries.
I can’t help but think of the words of the prophet Isaiah in Chapter 13 and its description of the day of the Lord, “Behold, the day cometh, cruel with wrath and fierce anger …” (Verse 9) At least those immigrants and refugees who refuse to embrace their new countries, or love the culture and freedom of their new home nations to the extent they have no qualms about terrorism, but instead, demand culture and other changes to reflect where they came from. Somehow, God will intervene or cause an intervention, like a backlash or an economic collapse but as verse 14 suggests, somehow He will act and it will result in, “…and flee every one into his own land”.
We are at a serious crossroads now and God’s People are well to remember that when all seems futile, He will answer prayer and come to our aid.
Just like the liberal media and people of the United States are bemoaning the Trump presidency, some in the United Kingdom are bemoaning the Brexit vote and can’t get over the fact that the “Remain” side lost. Article 50 was invoked and Prime Minister May is doing what the “Leave” vote wants. She is doing her best to negotiate terms for a soft Brexit but she is meeting with great resistance from the EU, who are very demanding in the negotiations to date. So, Ms. May called a general election and the early prospect was a landslide victory. Unfortunately, this magazine has been prepared before June 8th so my comments have to be speculative to an extent, particularly as the landslide seems to have dwindled. The things to watch are Scotland’s vote because the polls show they want to remain with the EU and Northern Ireland, who are also not anxious to leave and there is some suggestions they might even re-unite with Ireland.
Three things to consider, (1) the one-worlders are not about to give up, they want Britain to stay with the EU and (2) Are we at that stage that Revelation 18:4 describes “Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “‘Come out of her, my people,’ so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues”. If Ms. May wins a substantial majority, then this could well be the time God acts. And (3) deep down are the Scottish nationalists thinking as described in Joel 3:10, “… let the weak say, “I am strong”.
