When the Righteous Shall Shine In The Kingdom
In the Kingdom Parable regarding “The tares among the wheat,” we find the Lord Jesus informing His disciples, (as well as us who read these words of the Lord today) that the fulfillment of this parable will come to pass at “the end of the world, or age,”. . . the time in which we are living. In fact, we find the fulfillment of the parable mentioned twice by the Lord, indicating its importance.
With this in mind we shall now begin reading from Matt. 13:24-30. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying the kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man who sowed good seed in his field; but, while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.
But when the wheat was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? From where then, hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy has done this. The servants said unto him. Wilt thou then that we go gather them up?
But he said unto them, “nay, lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let them both grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest, I will say unto the reapers, gather together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn, but gather the wheat into my barn.
In this parable the Lord is showing some of the events and conditions that must and will take place in the kingdom of heaven (here upon the earth in the latter days). We can expect its fulfillment to take place within our nation, as we move into this time of great activity among the tares, or enemies of the Kingdom people (called wheat in this parable).
Perhaps I should mention before we continue on, that this expression “KINGDOM OF HEAVEN” (or literally of the heavens) refers to the rule of the heavens, i.e. the rule of the God of heaven over the earth. Some of you will remember when Moses went up into the mountain; he came back down with God’s rules and laws for the nation of Israel to live by, and to conduct their society by here upon the earth. Today America is still ruled by God’s laws to a great extent. The enemy has not been able, so far, to completely nullify them, for which we are thankful!
With this in mind let us look at verses 36-43, where we find the Lord Jesus explaining the parable. Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house; and his disciples came unto him and said, Explain unto us the parable of the tares in the field. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the son of man (or the Lord Jesus Christ), the field is the world, the good seed are the children of the kingdom (or followers of the Lord Jesus), the tares are the children of the wicked one.
The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world (or age). The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom (notice it is still the Lord’s kingdom, in spite of what these evil and wicked tares are doing today, here in America and throughout Christendom) all things that offend and them who do iniquity, (lawlessness, which these wicked are continually promoting and doing) and shall cast them into a furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth (evidently this is not literal fire, for these wicked are not destroyed, but in distress). Then shall the righteous (those are the children of the kingdom) shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their father.
Concerning the people the Lord Jesus had in mind when He was referring to the “children of the kingdom”, we simply need to turn to the Old Scriptures (the only scriptures when the Lord Jesus gave these parables). Those of you who are familiar with the Old Scriptures will remember God’s calling to Abraham and Sarah that “in Isaac shall thy seed be called.” Today the Anglo-Saxon people are often referred to by students of the Bible as the Kingdom people.
Turning to the book of Exodus, chapter 19 verses 5 and 6, the Lord, speaking through Moses, said unto the twelve tribes of Israel (Anglo- Saxons, the sons of Isaac), Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people (or literally a people for his own possession) for all the earth is mine; AND YE SHALL BE UNTO ME A KINGDOM OF PRIESTS (witnesses) and a holy nation.
Has it not been the Isaac-sons that have taken the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all the people and nations, fulfilling the great commission found in Matt. 28? Of course this has literally taken place and still is today.
We also notice that the removal of these tares, or children of the wicked one (i.e. Satan) will not be accomplished until the time of the harvest and then the Lord will send forth His angels to remove them. Until then, neither we nor anyone else will be able or capable of removing these wicked tares from the Kingdom of Heaven, or America, and the other Kingdom nations such as England, Scotland, Ireland, the Scandinavian and other Christian Kingdoms in Europe and other places.
Upon their removal, and only then, when the angels of the Lord have removed these tares, will the righteous shine forth in the Kingdom of their Father. “Who has ears to hear let him hear.” Then the prayer “THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN” shall become reality here upon the earth.
We also have this wonderful promise by the Lord Jesus found in Luke 12:32 Fear not little flock (regarding all the evil that we now see taking place within the kingdom today) for it is your Father’s good pleasure to GIVE YOU THE KINGDOM (of heaven). Praise God from whom all blessings flow! (of heaven). Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
