Freedom in Danger
Sometimes when I am alone with my thoughts, my mind travels back to simpler times, like a few days ago, when listening to band music and I began to think of a military band concert I attended in my youth at a small park in my home town. That was 1947, hard to believe it was that long ago, I was ten years of age and was memorized as the huge crowd stood or sat listening to the sounds of freedom blaring out from those instruments of music. The last remaining troops from the war had returned home earlier in the year and between musical numbers, an officer who was in some of the fiercest battles of the war spoke to us. I remember this part well because it was just a couple of months earlier that God had made a great impact in my young life.
At one point in his address, the officer said the reason the allies were successful was because they were in the right. So, God was with them. In his short address, he quoted Abraham Lincoln, a quote I later looked up and memorized. Lincoln had spoken these words at an 1864 day of prayer proclamation, as he declared, “If we do right, God will be with us, and if God is with us, we cannot fail”. Amazing words!
It was 80 years later [Those who study prophecy will see this as double test period] that another proclamation was made by a great British leader, King George VI, when he called his people to prayer on the evening of D-Day on June 6th, 1944, with this remarkable preamble, “Four years ago our nation and Empire stood alone against an overwhelming enemy, with our backs to the wall. Tested as never before in our history, in God’s providence we survived that test; the spirit of the people, resolute, dedicated, burned like a bright flame, lit surely from those Unseen Fires which nothing can quench.”
Here were two great leaders, both fully convinced that the only path to true freedom is through the Lord God Almighty. Still, more than that, both leaders understood completely that God was on their side. It’s interesting that the British Commonwealth of Nations was a possession of Joseph’s youngest son Ephraim and America, the Great Nation, is the possession of the other son, Manasseh. (Genesis 48:19)
Now, since WW2, we have not seen leaders of the ilk of Lincoln or George VI. President John F. Kennedy was demonstrating the promise of greatness, but his life was cut short by an assassin’s bullet. In Britain, there was Churchill, of course, but the only other exception to leader mediocrity has been Margaret Thatcher, but she was driven from office. So, the trend for the past seventy years has been downward, as existence without Jesus Christ as our focus has seen freedoms, prosperity, safety, and so much more, replaced by controls, poverty, terrorism, etc.
But, say some, there is a new day coming! They point to the recent Brexit vote in England as heralding a new, stronger Britain and the Trump presidency, as the beginning of the return of all that initially made America great in the first place. But look! Deuteronomy 28:15 says of True Israel, “But it shall come to pass, if thou will not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses come upon thee, and overtake thee”. It’s frightening to read the following 54 verses outlining the curses and to see how they are all visible in the Israel lands today. What did Abraham Lincoln say, “If we do right, God will be with us, and if God is with us, we cannot fail”. Well the opposite is, sadly, true. If we do not do right, God will not be with us and we shall fail”.
Certainly, the poverty in our nations, our declining respect in the world, the massive debt, and on and on and on; these are symptoms of a society without direction. Consequently, without a return to the love of God and His Commandments, there really isn’t much hope of greatness returning. And if the one-worlders have their way, the multi-religion, political correct drive will continue, and further denigration of Christianity will obviously follow. And more and more freedoms lost will be the result, including freedom of expression.
Now, in fairness to our Israel nations, we are living under the reality of Genesis 27:40, where God had Isaac give a secondary blessing to Esau, a blessing that ensured that at some point in the future, Esau would be granted dominion over Jacob (Israel). As written by many Israel Truth scholars, that dominion was put in place over a century ago and in the view of many, reached the harvest stage around the turn of this century. The evidence for this are the tremendous controls on True Israelites and the bondage created through debt and usury. The Bible refers to it as a yoke around the neck. And we shouldn’t fool ourselves, Esau could not have done it on their own, but they have the help of many Israelites themselves, collaborators, the Bible calls them. The good news is recorded in Ezekiel 34, a highly prophetic chapter of the Bible but in short, verse 27 tells us “…. And they [True Israel] shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the Lord, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hands that served themselves of them” [Esau].
Still, as much as we would like it to, it will not happen until True Israel nations and Israelites themselves return to God. When this will happen is unknown, only that Hosea 6:1 tells us it definitely will happen, “Come and let us return to the Lord”. Readers are encouraged to read Hosea 5:15 and the first few verses of Chapter 6, which are highly enlightening. Incidentally, the majority of collaborators who knowingly tie themselves to evil will see their fate tied to that of Esau.
So, for now, we are in bondage, and the promise of Brexit and Trump are tied to the nations’ return to God and His Commandments. Let’s hope that those who so longed for change will begin a prayer chain that will ultimately result in Israelites around the globe realizing who it is who have placed the yoke upon our necks. Jesus spoke a parable about the fig tree (Luke 13:6-9) and the last verse is indicative of a people who have chosen evil, “…. If not (bear fruit) then after that thou shall cut it down”. (destruction). Or as Matthew 13:30 more vividly describes it, “Let both grow together until the harvest: [when Jesus returns] and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares [Esau and collaborators], and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat [Israelites and Christians] into my barn.”
God’s Plan is certain, all that is left for us to know is the timing. Freedom may be in danger, but, have faith, God is in charge and judging from the many clues the Lord has provided, the day of release is not far off. As Ezekiel wrote (34:30) “ Thus shall they know that I the Lord their God am with them, and that they, even the House of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord God”.
