Blessing of Fellowship
“If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” (Phil. 2:1-3)
There is something truly wonderful about fellowshipping with people of like mind. When you meet them you feel like you have known them forever and the conversations you have with them are so easy and not forced or uneasy. This was definitely the case at the recent BIWF Summer Convention I attended in England in July. We were joined together by our love for Jesus Christ our Lord and our belief in the Israel message. This is not easy to find in our world today, to have believers in both Christ and His salvation and the Israel message. You can find many wonderful Christians who believe faithfully and totally in Jesus Christ and His message of Salvation but they know nothing or little about the Kingdom message. You can also find people who believe in conspiracy and like to concentrate on all the corrupt things that are happening in our world but do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Saviour and His gifts of Grace and Mercy.
We are very fortunate when we can meet together with those who know the complete message of the Bible and can acknowledge what is happening in the world today but also know of God’s redemptive plan for His Israel people. It is a wonderful gift from God that we can join together with one another of like mind to speak of these things. We lift each other up and benefit each other in ways that cannot happen with others of unlike mind. We are united in the Spirit with Christ and the Father. “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” (John 17:22-23) We live in a world full of violence and corruption and it is easy to get caught up in all that is happening and think that everything is so awful, but through it all God is working out His plan for His people and it does help to meet together and discuss these things. It reinforces our faith and gives us strength for the things to come.
It was such a privilege to have had the opportunity to visit with our brethren in the United Kingdom and others from South Africa, New Zealand, Germany and Holland to share our thoughts on the Israel message and how God is working in our Israel lands. It was a great message of hope and renewing of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are living in extremely exciting times and although things appear to be quite dismal at times we know it is only for a short time. Our “redemption draweth nigh” and we must keep our focus on the Lord Jesus Christ. His mercy endureth forever and He will not forsake us in our time of need. It is not an easy world and it is unfortunate that there are not many to talk to of like mind. We do hope our TKC magazine and others that many of you receive will give you comfort and fellowship knowing there are others of like mind waiting for our Lord’s return.
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Heb. 10:24-25)
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1John 1:7)
