Acknowledging the Inevitable

I recall reading a few words by a one-time well-known writer who penned, “The situation which we find in the world must be met or it will go by default into further depths of ruin”. That was in 1934 and was followed by Part 2 of the most devastating war in history. When over, the war that was described as “the war to end all wars” proved to be just a short pause, as Korea, Viet Nam, Iraq, Afghanistan and numerous small wars erupted. And here we are, in 2016, and the world appears to be teetering on the brink of wars all around the globe. The terrorist actions in Europe, Asia, America and elsewhere almost guarantees more war in the Mid-East, as the growing confidence and atrocities of ISIS begs for response. And the belligerent actions of the Great Bear flexing its muscles in Eastern Europe has nations scrambling in preparation.  It’s like Jesus said when describing the times before His return, “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars …” And isn’t it alarming that the employment of nuclear weapons is so easily thrown around these days.

But, does it matter how many wars come and go, the hostilities never seem to cease. Once we had a policeman to bring some stability to the world, first the once mighty British Commonwealth and latterly, the United States of America. But their roles in the world have lessened greatly, particularly over the past few decades, as other nations have become giants and once compliant foes have flexed their muscles, mainly due to a lack of respect and lack of fear of one-time police nations.

“True Israel is great because True Israel is good but if True Israel ever ceases to be good, True Israel will no longer be great”.

Today, our once mighty Israel nations are beset with immense difficulties. You can review Deuteronomy 28 to get the full picture. Think only of the great burden of debt, the loss of freedoms, the many diseases we have imported, strangers directing our affairs and the changes we have had to accept to accommodate non-Christian peoples who have come to our shores. Deuteronomy 28:15 is the cause of these disasters, “But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee”. To slightly abridge historian Tocqueville’s words when he visited America in the early 1800’s, “True Israel is great because True Israel is good but if True Israel ever ceases to be good, True Israel will no longer be great”. Our Israel nations ceased to become good when God’s commandments were set aside by governments and the majority of Israelites. And so, we have reached that point where we, as Israel nations, are no longer great.

So, economic collapse is closer today than anyone cares to admit and when it happens, the “war of all wars” is bound to follow. We can read all about it in Ezekiel 38. Our saving grace is, of course, the Lord Jesus Christ. And maybe, just maybe, this will be a time when Israelites everywhere will, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 demands, “humble ourselves and seek his face.” Or, as Hosea 6:1 states, we will exclaim, “Come, and let us return unto the Lord … he will heal us …”

One of the early leaders of this Association made the statement, “We are about to set sail on the greatest adventure of all the ages.” I wonder! We have a triple nemesis facing us. The Bible calls it “Mystery Babylon”! There is the Political Arm of this great enemy, directed by the majority of our leaders who are dedicated to a one-world philosophy, notwithstanding that God told Israel not to enter agreements with heathen nations. If and when this comes into effect, we in the Israel lands will likely face a new tax to add to our already heavy burden and face even greater restrictions.

I mentioned the Economic Arm of Mystery Babylon but must emphasize the danger of the crushing debt, not just with government but with individuals, etc. And the Giant Corporate World is an integral part of Mystery Babylon, not caring a whit about the displaced workers or communities, when they so cold-heartedly close down plants in Israel lands and transfer them to third-world nations, knowing full well that Political Babylon will not utter a peep.  The Apostle James had this to say about them, “the wages of which you have defrauded the workman … call out ….. You have fattened yourselves as for the Day of Slaughter”. (Chapter 5:4-5 -Moffatt)

And we must not overlook the Ecclesiastical Arm of Babylon, who have watered down our Christian faith to a new reality, who stand on the sidelines while our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is denigrated almost daily and who have opened their arms to almost a reunion with the catholic faith, despite the great sacrifice of those who brought the Reformation to reality. Those other than theologians are not blameless because they simply go along. You know, an influential educationalist made a statement nearly 80 years ago, “The age of faith is dead. Why do you want to revive it? The parents do not complain”. Slowly since then, faith has been banned from schools and other places where young people could learn the truth. Is there any wonder the Bible tells us, “When the Son of Man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth”? Indeed, the faith is wrapped up in the prophecies of the Bible, but the Bible sits on the shelves, gathering dust in most homes. So, when the Apostle Paul taught that we must “add to faith, knowledge”, it just cannot happen.

But here’s the good news and guess what, it comes from prophecy. Revelation 18:10 tells us, “…. Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour is thy judgment come” but the whole of Chapters 17 & 18 demonstrate that all three arms of the evil system will collapse. In his strong article last month Pastor Campbell wrote these words, “Most Bible scholars have arrived at this prophetic hour as representing 15 years, so the question is, “Has it started and if so, are we at the beginning, in the midst, at the end, or, at a point still in the future”. Well, I have referred to 2016 in past articles and maybe it is just a coincidence, but it is 15 years past 2001, the end of the 6 days or 6,000 years, as determined by Bible scholar J.B. Dimbleby and Great Pyramid scholar David Davidson. And it does coincide with 911 and what might be the beginning of the Esau Harvest. So perhaps something will occur this year to throw more light on God’s great plan for True Israel. So much has already taken place since the fall equinox of 2015 but let’s just stay alert.

To conclude, I really like what Rev. Goard wrote many years ago. He began by quoting Isaiah 11:16, “And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt”. He suggested that this quotation either refers to the Coming of Jesus Christ to reign – and this may be the case – or it refers to a King who, with restored power, shall arise and rule in British Israel, and in all Israel, preparatory to the Coming of our Lord. He went on, “If our Lord should delay His Coming, then we may look to see such a King arise. If our Lord immediately come, then we shall see this passage fulfilled in His Own way. But we shall see the fulfilment soon”.
