Our Present Sorrow Shall Be Turned to Joy
The follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and the worldly are diametrically opposed to one another. Where one enjoys, the other despises. Where one loves, the other hates. Where one is satisfied, the other is dissatisfied. Where one laments, the other rejoices.
That is how it is, and it will not change. Not now, and not in the world to come. Whatever makes us happy and joyful in heart will always annoy the infidel, and whatever causes the reprobate to laugh for joy will always be anathema to the follower of Christ. “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” Revelation 22:11
Right now, it appears it is time for those of us who love righteousness to weep and lament while the world rejoices in their evil abominations. They have the momentum and they are reveling in it. They can say and do just about anything they want, and they know that they will get away with it: because it is, at present, their time to rejoice while we weep.
And I do weep. I weep when I remember the America that I knew as a boy, and then look around me at what she has become. I weep when I see the American home turned upside down and families destroyed. I weep when I see perversion and abominations celebrated and good Christian men and women vilified for standing up for what is right. I weep when I see the churches more concerned with what the latest poll says than what God says. I weep when I see the filth that our children are exposed to constantly. I hate it, as should all those who love righteousness.
But take heart, dear Christian! The time is coming — and we say, Lord, hasten the day! — when our present sorrow will be turned into joy unspeakable and full of glory, and we will no more remember our present sorrow; for the wicked and the abominable will be put in their rightful place . . . “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second earth.” Revelation 21:8
. . . And the righteous will “shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father!” And we will praise Him who sits upon the Throne forever and ever! Joy upon joy! Glory upon glory! World without end!
Glory be to God and the Lamb forever! Amen! and Amen!
