God Makes It All Possible
If it were possible for God to suddenly cease to exist, the entire universe would almost immediately explode like a gigantic atom bomb with atomic chain reactions spreading from one end of the universe to the other. The brilliant flash of this spontaneous explosion would be followed by the silence and darkness of eternal death. This would be so for the Scriptures tell us all things are upheld by the word of His power (Heb. 1:3). Without God there would be no life; without Him there would be no light, for God is the giver of light as well as of life. Without Him there would be only unceasing confusion and chaos.
It was David who declared: “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.” (Ps. 53:1.)
The man who attempts to deny the existence of God is indeed a fool, for apart from God he would not be alive since the very breath in his body which makes his utterance possible is God’s gift. It was declared so in the beginning and it will continue to be the truth that God formed man out of the dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. When God speaks, and that breath is recalled, man ceases to be a living soul and his body returns to the dust of the earth from whence it came. Paul admonished us to seek the Lord, declaring that He is not very far from any of us.
Then Paul said: “For in him we live, and move, and have our being.” (Acts 17:28.)
